Great place to stay to visit Yosemite. We stayed for 3 nights at loop C and had a great experience. The camping site has a bit of a slope, so it can be a bit tricky to set up your tent, but totally appropriate for rainy conditions. Wished this place had showers.

Appreciated how close we were to a store with food/supplies and the water. Parking at our site was a bit interesting being up a hillside but our site was amazing so it was worth it for sure. Would happily come back and camp here to be away from the valley crowd.

The the site was really nice. It has a couple of places where you can hang a hammock. Close to the bathrooms without being to close. Very few neighboring sites. There is an easy hiking trail near the Wawona hlHotel that I recommend. We did see a rattlesnake out there but the trail is really wide so we spotted it easily. You're definitely in the wilderness so be sure to come prepared. We had a really great time and plan on coming back next year. Highly recommend it 😁

Wawona Campground was a wonderful place to stay while visiting Yosemite. The location is peaceful, beautiful, making it a perfect spot to relax after exploring the park. The campground has a calm, family-friendly atmosphere, and it feels less crowded and more quiet than some of the busier areas of Yosemite.
The campsites are spacious, and close to the Merced River, which adds so much charm to the experience. The facilities were well maintained, and the overall area felt clean and organized. It is an ideal choice for anyone who wants a classic Yosemite camping experience with beautiful surroundings and a more relaxed atmosphere. I would definitely recommend Wawona Campground to anyone planning a Yosemite trip!

I’m really not sure how to rate this. The check-in was fine. They let me check in early. It’s a nice place. Nice along the river.
On the other hand, it rained when I came in and when I left

Beautiful campsite by the river. Quite convenient with spickets and bathrooms nearby. Could watch the sunrise and sunset between the trees.

This trip was interesting! The campground itself was awesome. Relatively flat camping spot, clean bathrooms, and clear signage. The only hiccup was with some neighboring campers who kept making raging fires and leaving their campsite. However, we reported it to a ranger and they were amazing about handling it. They talked to them, confiscated their massive wood chunks that they were using improperly, and offered us another spot to camp. It was a really good response on their part and we felt safe staying the rest of our trip. Thank you rangers for being awesome!!
If you haven’t visited Yosemite before, I recommend checking out Mariposa grove! Theres a beautiful boardwalk trail that leads you to iconic trees like the Grizzly Giant and a walk-through tree! The giant sequoias are humbling, too. Only a few minutes from camp!

Wawona Campground was a good location to hike the Chilnualna Falls Trail. Site 80 was pretty good. I wasn’t crazy about the trash bins so close, but it wasn’t that intrusive. Bathrooms were close enough, but not too close. This site is very spacious. You can set up your tent far enough away from others to have privacy. I advise on bringing your own firewood, because the campground doesn’t seem to sell firewood. The market down the road sells it, but they were out of it for both nights I was there.

Take Highway 41 north from Fresno, Highway 140 east from Merced, or Highway 120 east from Manteca into Yosemite National Park. Follow signs to Wawona. The campground is located 8 miles north of the South Entrance station on Highway 41, and 27 miles south of Yosemite Valley.

General
- You are responsible for reading the following information and booking a site that will accommodate your equipment.
- If arriving one or more days late, call (209) 375-9535; your reservation will be cancelled if we do not hear from you within 24 hours of your arrival date.
- Bear Habitat! Food and toiletries must be stored in provided food lockers. Absolutely NO food or scented items stored in vehicles. Dispose of garbage immediately in bear-proof dumpsters.
- Potable water at the dump station (located one mile south of the campground) is only available during summer months.
- Resale or auction of advance reservations is prohibited

- Don't Move Firewood: Help protect our forests! Prevent the spread of tree-killing pests by obtaining firewood at or near your destination and burning it on-site. Moving firewood is illegal in some states. Visit dontmovefirewood.org to learn more.
