This is such a magical campground next to a beautiful river perfect to swim in on a hot summer day. The bajillion mosquito bites I got were a small price to pay for a slice of heaven!
If you are a solo/small group camping with a tent, the b loop is the best. Plenty of shade, far enough away from the Main Street, away from all the giant rvs with loud generators in the c loop, and has such a delightful area to enter the river.
The a loop has shade for like 2 hours and is right next to the street so you can hear cars going by at all times of the day and night.

We had site #39 and it was a good site, but it is a bit of a walk to the bathroom. The sound of the river on the other side of the street was wonderful. There is a nice beach area in loop B and we enjoyed sitting down next to the river listening to the water roll over the rocks. A wonderful location.

Camp ground was nice, ranger talks every night were awesome.
Road noise is a huge problem.... If your primary priority is 'getting away from it all', don't camp here

Wawona is lovely. Our site was great. The neighbors had stolen our picnic table however, and didn't move it back to when the ranger told them to. So, when we arrived, we had to steal it back and it is not light.

Another wonderful experience in the Wawona campground, and this time for the 4th! Campground was quiet especially given the holiday, and very well maintained. Love the peace of Wawona compared to the valley. If you're coming here for rest and relaxation, Wawona over the valley, 100%. Special shoutout to Matt at check in for being so kind every year! Will be back as soon as we can!

Great spot close to the water and bathrooms.
The only thing I didn't like is that the bear box is not covered by any shade so during the summer the food gets really hot inside and the ice melts fast.The site also has the trails to the bathroom so people do walk through.
Other than that, I would definitely would stay there again. Rangers are friendly, the campsite is beautiful and quiet.

Wonderful. Sites are spaced out nicely so that you have your own area. Certainly the case in Loops B and C (looked like Loop A is less ideal). We were in Loop C and being serenaded by the sound of rushing water (and dipping into it to cool off) was lovely. Great campsite.

Take Highway 41 north from Fresno, Highway 140 east from Merced, or Highway 120 east from Manteca into Yosemite National Park. Follow signs to Wawona. The campground is located 8 miles north of the South Entrance station on Highway 41, and 27 miles south of Yosemite Valley.

General
- You are responsible for reading the following information and booking a site that will accommodate your equipment.
- If arriving one or more days late, call (209) 375-9535; your reservation will be cancelled if we do not hear from you within 24 hours of your arrival date.
- Bear Habitat! Food and toiletries must be stored in provided food lockers. Absolutely NO food or scented items stored in vehicles. Dispose of garbage immediately in bear-proof dumpsters.
- Potable water at the dump station (located one mile south of the campground) is only available during summer months.
- Resale or auction of advance reservations is prohibited

- Don't Move Firewood: Help protect our forests! Prevent the spread of tree-killing pests by obtaining firewood at or near your destination and burning it on-site. Moving firewood is illegal in some states. Visit dontmovefirewood.org to learn more.
