I had no problems with cellphone reception. The walking tour of old Wawona Village with Yosemite Foundation Rep. Brian Shoor was an informative historical experience.

The ability to make a same day reservation was a nice surprise. Facilities were fine, staff was great. The only problem was that we have a roof-top tent, there were rocks preventing us from pulling our vehicle into the camp spot (which was level) and the parking space was on a slant, so we didn’t have a level tent for the night.

Beautiful spot right next to the river - quiet, meadow full of wildflowers.
It was confusing on arrival as site 10 is before the check in booth and there were cones across the driveway with no instructions on being able to move them.
Very flat, very open - great spot!

Fantastic site, and only a 35min drive to Yosemite Valley! The sounds from the river (which was flowing late-spring/early-summer) are beautiful and the amenities are perfect for RVing or tent camping.

The setting along the Merced River is beautiful and peaceful, and the proximity to Mariposa Grove was great. We had an excellent stay.

Spacious and level RV site with close path down to river, sleep to babbling brook sounds all night, site in quietest loop on the grounds. Rangers were very friendly. Dumping and water fill station less than a mile away. Could not catch a fish!!!

Take Highway 41 north from Fresno, Highway 140 east from Merced, or Highway 120 east from Manteca into Yosemite National Park. Follow signs to Wawona. The campground is located 8 miles north of the South Entrance station on Highway 41, and 27 miles south of Yosemite Valley.
Elevation: 1784 feet
59 mi drive to downtown Yosemite National Park (about 1 hr 43 min)

General
- You are responsible for reading the following information and booking a site that will accommodate your equipment.
- If arriving one or more days late, call (209) 375-9535; your reservation will be cancelled if we do not hear from you within 24 hours of your arrival date.
- Bear Habitat! Food and toiletries must be stored in provided food lockers. Absolutely NO food or scented items stored in vehicles. Dispose of garbage immediately in bear-proof dumpsters.
- Potable water at the dump station (located one mile south of the campground) is only available during summer months.
- Resale or auction of advance reservations is prohibited

- Don't Move Firewood: Help protect our forests! Prevent the spread of tree-killing pests by obtaining firewood at or near your destination and burning it on-site. Moving firewood is illegal in some states. Visit dontmovefirewood.org to learn more.
