Black Rock Campground

Not all sites are level (they did note that before booking). We booked a trailer site for our RV which had plenty of room, it just took us some time to get level. We had loud neighbors well after the midnight hour. It is located outside the park but not too far. The roads inside the campground are very nasty and could use some paving. Did have a dump station available. Not sure that we would choose to camp here with our RV in the future.

I recently camped at Black Rock Canyon Campground and had a great experience. The campground was peaceful, well-maintained, and a perfect place to enjoy the desert scenery. It had that classic Joshua Tree feel, with beautiful open views, clean surroundings, and a quiet atmosphere that made it easy to relax.

The campsites were nicely laid out, and it felt like there was enough space to enjoy the outdoors without feeling too crowded. The location is also convenient, especially if you want access to hiking trails, stargazing, or just a quiet night away from the city.

The night sky was one of the highlights. Once it got dark, the stars were beautiful, and the campground had a calm, peaceful feeling that made the trip worth it. Overall, Black Rock Canyon Campground is a great spot for a simple, relaxing camping trip. I would definitely recommend it and would be happy to camp there again.

Amazing campground with lots of space at each site. Flushing toilets, running water, and amazing views all around. Super close to town but not so close it affects the ambiance.

Nice Campground with clean flushing toilets. Website showed it was full. Many, many empty sites. No shows who do not cancel should be fined.

We liked site 30 because it was away from the more crowded sites. However, it is on a slope, and the ground is hard, hard, hard. We could not get our tent stakes in at all and had to put big rocks in our tents to keep them from blowing away. It is also right next to a trail head, which we didn't mind because we were on the trail early in the morning after packing our stuff away. There is a bathroom close by.

Campsite 007 was perfect for camping one night in and out. It’s built in one corner so you’ll have extra space for another car including your tents and stuff… bathroom is close enough to the site. No shade or native plants in this spot. Very family friendly place, we will be back soon to stay for a bit longer. The Nature Center was the best place to hang out for sunset.
