Family campground, bathroom facilities worn but very clean and functional, good value overall for a family weekend

Great site, super close to restrooms and water source. It was windy so recommend to secure your tent well. There is a fire pit and grill on site along with a picnic table. Spacious site that can fit 2 vehicles. It is not leveled. It has a small slope to it. Would fit small RV or trailer.

We have been here several times, and each time is great. Good access to trails. Staff in office are helpful. Looks like some of the roads in the campsite have been recently improved. Note this place gets very busy at the weekends (we avoid the weekends)

Great, large sites with loads of nearby hiking. Our site was not flat, bring your levelers.

I was camping in fishbowl. there was literally nowhere to go to be unseen. Apparently all the party people from LA come here and party and play music and put on a ton of lights and are loud well past 10 o'clock.. the restrooms weren't close and then I was told by the Ranger not to put any water except in the restroom sink. Sorry, but I'm I'm all about leave. No trace but that's excessive to walk to a restroom which is normal near my campsite to simply dump a slightly bit of use water no toxins OK. . Anyway, it's a decent location kind of outside of town and there are nice trails, but I'm not coming back to Joshua tree anytime soon. I'll find something more private. peaceful experience. I mean on Sunday the campground was empty and some dude rolled up and next to my campsite with all his lights and party music . He had the whole campsite to choose from. Why didn't he pick one that nobody was next to him?? I enjoyed the park and I also did some hiking in Whitewater, which is actually pretty cool. I don't know why they allow loud music in the campground. I mean why allow music at all . But I guess it'd probably be hard to enforce with the crowd there. There is also a decent trail adjacent to the campground. Bathrooms, where fine but not super close to me anyway..
