The volunteers have made this an exceptional equestrian campground. It would. Be improved by having a restroom closer - it’s quite a walk up to the one in the regular campground and those restrooms are small too, but nice and clean. A porta potty or CXT would work in the eq. Campground.

It is very nice camping at black rock equestrian. It is great having corrals there. Only 1 water so make sure you take a long hose. Riding is great. Very beautiful with lots of trails.

Weather was wonderful until our last day when the wind picked up. Wind is always an issue at this campground. So check you weather before heading out. There is still only one water spigot. You will need at least 200 feet of hose to reach most of the corrals. If you have your horses farther from the spigot, you will need something to transport your water in. There are two manure dumpsters. Bring a bucket that you can easily lift to dump into the bins. The bathroom is located in the people campground. It is a long walk, with no direct path. There is a small break in the wood fence behind two corrals that allows you to walk up to the bathrooms. Bring a light for night time walks to the bathroom.

Take Interstate 10 to Route 62 into the town of Yucca Valley. Turn south on Joshua Lane and follow signs to campground, about five miles from the turn.
If coming south on Highway 247, go straight across Highway 62 and continue onto Joshua Lane. There will be no sign for the park as you cross Route 62.
Access to Black Rock Equestrian Campground is via Interstate 10 and Route 62. The campground can be reached by turning south on Joshua Lane from Route 62 in Yucca Valley.
