What Guests Are Saying
Thunder Ridge Campground offers a beautiful and clean camping experience, with friendly hosts who ensure the facilities are well-maintained, including spotless bathrooms. The campground is conveniently located near Woodland Park and features stunning views, easy access to a reservoir for activities like hiking and fishing, and a peaceful atmosphere. Some challenges include uneven tent pads and a bumpy access road, but many campers express a desire to return for the overall positive experience.

We loved Thunder Ridge. Close enough to Woodland Park, yet far enough to feel like you got out into the woods. Great place to stay and great accommodations.

Beautiful area. Each campground has a fire pit/grill. Bathrooms are clean & most spots have great shade. Jan was super helpful & friendly!

The bathrooms were incredibly clean along with the campsite itself. The hike down to the reservoir was easy and quick! The campsite staff was very friendly as well.

Weather was better in previous visit. Campsite 12 has gorgeous view of the reservoir.

We've camped at numerous places over the last 20 years and have never had an issue with a campsite not being large enough for our tent.. We explained the situation to the host and he told us to set up our tent on the asphalt where our car was parked. There were larger sites available, but he wouldn't let us move. We ended up leaving and staying at another campground.

This is one of the best possible location to camp under an hour away from Colorado Springs.

Beautiful campsite. Went after Labor Day so it was very quiet with few other campers in the campground. Very clean sites and the bathrooms were pretty much spotless. Camp host was an absolutely delightful lady. Only issue was the El Paso County road to the campground was almost impassable for about 4 miles, from lack of maintenance. Other than the terrible road conditions this is a gorgeous place to camp and I would definitely want to return.

Thunderridge CG is a very clean and peaceful campground. The camp host Jan was wonderful and made sure we felt at home. We encountered rain during our stay and the sites drained well and surprisingly quickly.

A nice camping spot. Pretty close to a beautiful lake with some good singletrack going around the lake. The camp host was friendly and the bathrooms smelled better than the ones in my house, very clean. The camp also had a nice metal pole for me to hang my shower which was quite convenient
