What Guests Are Saying

Hovenweep Campground is a well-maintained, clean, and peaceful site with beautiful views and excellent hiking opportunities right from the campground. Many visitors appreciate the proximity to ancient ruins and the dark night sky, making it a unique experience. However, some campers note that the sites can be small and crowded, and there are concerns about generator noise during peaceful hours.

Sites are smaller and more crowded than information provided. I felt compelled to leave early to make sure others could get out. Close quarters to neighbors. But I am glad there are spots for many. I think the advertisement re the length of RV that fits should be revisited by management to be more realistic. Great that it's right near the canyon and has great covered tables with a partial windbreak (?) too.

What a beautiful little spot to visit. The campground was quiet and peaceful. Walking among the ruins reminds us of the beautiful heritage we have in this country.

This is a unique historic site that is well worth the trek to get there. Please stay on the trails! On another note: I would like to make a motion that we work towards banning generators in all Nat Park and Monument campgrounds. The amazing sounds of these places are ruined for 8 hours a day with the ability to run generators. What the heck?

Hovenweep is always great. However, the absurd "generator hours" are right when most of us are trying to enjoy the pleasant evening and morning hours. But the few who must run generators to, I don't know what--watch T.V.--destroy the quiet for the majority. This is a really offensive policy catering to the RV industry and not the majority of campers.
