Although we had only two days of a scheduled 6 day visit, this campground remains one of our favorite Colorado campgrounds. We had a mandatory evacuation because of the Stoner Mesa fire. The campground host, Blaine, is an exceptional campground host. In the midst of the wildfire situation, he provided the calm guidance necessary to guide campers out safely. He suggested we relocate late in the day to the McPhee Campground complex about 30 minutes away. When we arrived at that campground, the campground hosts, Rolf and Nan, were actually waiting for several relocating campers at the entrance to the campground. They guided us personally to site options and made our transition to a new camp very easy. The network of caring camp hosts made a challenging experience so much easier. Blaine is a first class person and a caring camp host.

Great campground with excellent host. Allowed us to take a site different than our reservation so we did not have to move. Large sites by the Dolores River. Very Restrooms were very clean.

Very clean, quiet campground close to the river. Blain was the best Host I've ever encountered! Hoping to be able to come back in '26.

We were totally amazed at West Dolores Campground. Peaceful, quiet, clean and full of Mother Nature. The director, Blaine, was very personable yet kept excellent control over the campground. If you ever need to get away from everything, this is your place. Bring a book, fishing rod (river on edge of campground) or your spouse / buddy to relax in your own nirvana.
