Campground had a lot of cool features leftover from the CCC and the cleanest bathrooms, however: there is a tent only loop but many of the sites don't have tent pads. The tables are not level and are made out of wood that will most definitely leave you with splinters. Sites are very dusty and dry, but if it rained would be total mud slicks. There were no ranger programs the weekend we visited.

Perfect location to access the rest of Colorado National Monument. Also, just a short drive into Fruita and Grand Junction. Bathrooms clean. Bring leveling blocks as most sites are not level. Many of the overlooks along Rim Rock Drive have short trails to the best viewing points (i.e. don't just look and take photos from the roadside). Best overlooks with the most to see are at the west end of the national monument.

The host was very kind and helped us navigate changing sites once we got there. Need shade these days!

Nice campground overall but our original site (site 26) was pretty much piled in with a few other campsites. We ended up moving to the site right next to it and that was nicer

The campground is clean and well maintained. The bathrooms are clean and there is potable water at some sites. Camp host was friendly and helpful. The only problem is that there isn't much shade and in the summer, the sun was brutal. I would not stay there more than a night.
