The camp host went above and beyond to accommodate us. This is a very nice camp site with wonderful hiking and views. It is busy so don't think you will have quiet solitude (we were there on a Wednesday in October).

The camp host Terry was fantastic! He helped not just us, but many others find the best site to suit their needs. He was super friendly and shared a lot of helpful information about the park and the surrounding area.

It was an overall wonderful experience. I like the fact that the reservation owner's name is placed at the campsite. The restrooms were clean, and the water was good. My only recommendation is to install hands free sensors at the restroom faucets. C loop already has this, but not A and B loops.

The only problems we had were with the level of the site and the lack of electricity. It would take very little work with a small cat to level out some of the sites in the campground. Those of us with evaporative ammonia refrigerators need a pretty level site for them to work properly. Having to use blocks to level, and then get off of them, put them away, drive to a hiking spot, etc., is time consuming. With power lines arching over the campground, it seems to make sense to "electrify" some of the sites with 20 or 30 amp power. That would be very helpful for small units with refrigerators to run and people like me with a CPAP that needs power to operate. I have batteries available for mine, but some people don't have them available or don't have a CPAP that can run on batteries. John Daugherty, Lafayette, Colorado

Had to go elsewhere. Great campground but the site we reserved is useless. 27-B has no flat area for a tent and is right next to the stinky bathrooms. Really put us in a bind as we had very little time to find other accommodations and ended up paying 400$ for a BnB. Sad deal.

Lots of great hikes here that are short in length without crowds. The road around the canyon rim is beautiful and also not crowded, but drive carefully. Pull off when you wish to enjoy the views.
