Comfortable cabin to stay in. Plenty of supplies in the kitchen with which to make meals. I would return.

We had an amazing time at the cabin and ponds. We caught the end of the meteor shower and enjoying the pair of great horned owl’s, marmot and deer. PEACE was found

We absolutely loved staying in this cabin. It's exactly the kind of family facility we love to use. Removed enough to have a few quirks, and loved enough to be welcoming and comfortable.
You can feel the communal appreciation the moment you walk in. This unassuming cabin feels luxurious when you find it comes equipped with a full electric kitchen and even gloriously hot water.
We comfortably stayed as a family of six, with a couple of young children and had a blast for the full duration of our stay.

Wonderful cabin. Loved the area, the cabin was perfect for our family of 6. Two full bathrooms and a full kitchen really helped us maintain comfort while being remote. The rooms were large enough to spread out from each other, important since this was just one so on our long road trip, and the outside area was inviting. We would recommend to family and friends, and we are considering going back next year.

Perfect place to disconnect and recharge.
Each bedroom has two twin beds that easily push together if you need a larger bed.
While the description says you need to bring cooking utensils, there’s plenty of pots, pans, plates, and silverware that have collected over the years.

It is a big three bedrooms cabin. However, the bathrooms and kitchen are down the basement that wasn’t mentioned in information page. It was relatively clean except lots of flies. We cleaned the cabin for the next quests to enjoy when we left.
It is a long 40-minute drive from Montrose. If you don't plan to travel to other areas during your stay, it will be better. We were disappointed to see the Silesca Pond was dried out. But I was excited to discovered a nearby beautiful pond when I ventured out the back field. It was interesting to read the materials in the cabin about the history of the cabin, pond, and surrounding area.

Follow Highway 90 southwest from Montrose. Watch for signs as the highway makes several turns as it weaves its way out of town. The pavement ends where the road begins to climb out of the Uncompahgre River Valley and enters lands administered by the Bureau of Land Management. In 20 miles, it enters the Uncompahgre National Forest. Silesca Cabin is about a half-mile further on the left side of the road.
