Chalk Lake Campground is praised for its beautiful scenery, friendly hosts, and well-maintained facilities, making it a favorite among campers. Many visitors appreciate the spacious campsites, especially those near the creek and lake, as well as the access to hiking trails. This is our favorite campsite! Can't wait to go back and spend more time there. Quiet, shady, beautiful, and peaceful.

Beautiful campsite! This did not impact us, but a potential issue could be the close proximity of site 10’s fire pit to the tent pad at site 11. Host was great, and bathrooms were kept spotless! Hope to return.

Camp was very well maintained and hosts were friendly. Bonus is that you can walk over to Chalk Lake.

We had campsite 11 next to the creek. There is shade for the tent off the tent pad and shade at the table part of the day. The only drawback is the campsite 10 is right next to this site with no privacy. Sites 12, 13 and 14 are great shade site with a bit more separation

Possibly the most beautiful campground in Colorado. Try and get one of the sites right on Chalk Creek. It’s beautiful, with large campsites and plenty of room between sites.

I love this campground. The little stream is such a treat, and chalk lake was so much more beautiful than I expected. I believe Roosevelt's vision for the new deal was a Bear Box for every Campsite and I have seen that vision realized at chalk lake.
