Cascade Campground is located in beautiful Chaffee County, Colorado. This popular facility sits near Cascade Falls and is within 5 mi of a private hot springs resort, making it an ideal location for rest and relaxation. "First come, first served" does not necessarily mean that the site will be available when you get there. Someone may get there before you. This is a popular campground and is normally full starting on Friday, sometimes as early as Thursday, so plan accordingly.

This is a beautiful spot in a conifer forest with plenty of deciduous trees as well. It’s close to the waterfall. You can actually hear it. The chalk valley is a cool area to explore and it’s not very far from St. Elmo, the cute little ghost Town.

We love this location! The campground is beautiful. It was not fun being in the campsite next to the road with not much of a sound barrier to muffle the sounds of motorcycles and trucks. We enjoyed the hiking, exploring the stream across the street from the campground, and Mt. Princeton Hot Springs. The is lot to explore in nearby Buena Vista and Leadville.

*A caveat for travelers is this, if you drive a class A motorhome that is 35 ft., the road to the campground has a very deep drainage dip that the back of your motorhome will scrape….quite a bit!! Be aware and consider whether you want to put your coach through that. Since our coach is 35 ft long, we have decided that the risk of damage to our coach is too great and we will not return to the site.

If your coach is short or you don’t mind the risk, go for it! It’s beautiful up there!
