This was our third visit to the cabins, the first two when they were an independent group and this past time after Marriott had taken them over. We rented two cabins, one for my wife and me and the other for our son. When we arrived ours appeared to be in good condition but our son's had not been fully cleaned yet. One star for this review goes to the quick text responses from the team working there. We had a new cabin within minutes and our son moved there but the situation was worse - the bed was a mess, there were dirty dishes in the sink, and wet towels in the bathroom. He moved a third time and the final cabin was clean.
Next is the $35 daily Destination Fee that Marriott applies to your bill. In the past you were charged for things like wood for the fire, s'mores kits, tea, coffee, etc., on a per-use basis. Per the Marriott website the Destination Fee includes:
Three bundles of firewood with starters
A s'mores kit
Four servings each of coffee, tea, and hot chocolate
Two bottles of water
Snacks for your adventure
Our room did not have s'mores kits, and we never received them during our stay. We had two full bundles of firewood and the third was used. There were four servings of coffee and tea but only two of hot chocolate. We had two bottles of water and snacks. Our son's room was better stocked with everything listed above. We stayed two nights but nothing was replenished. So keep this in mind - if you rent a cabin but it's raining and you cannot use the firepit, you are still being charged the full $35 without use of the wood, and you will need to cook the s'mores in the oven.
In addition we did not have any pot holders for the stove, face cloths for the shower, or a teapot. The first aid kit in the bathroom had one adhesive bandage and three feminine items. From the standpoint of being sanitary, our roll of aluminum foil was loose under the sink next to the trash can, sponges in both cabins appeared to be used, and after reporting that our son's shower drain was clogged on Thursday morning it was never cleaned out when we left Friday morning.
For all of these issues we were offered an hour delay in our departure time, from 11:00 to noon. And to date I have not received a receipt from our stay, but was told I would have it yesterday.
In short this was an overall disappointment. The idea of these cabins is fantastic, we have no issues with proximity to the neighbors, the layout is good, the large windows overlooking the woods is nice to wake up to in the morning, they are quite cozy and comfortable, and it's a nice way to just get away from everything and enjoy some peace and quiet. I would only give this review one star for the quick text replies from the team working there, but I have to give one additional with the thought of just how great they can be. We are considering a second try, and if so we hope this experience was a fluke and the next is just as good as our first two times there.

really enjoyed our stay in the “benny” cabin during a snow storm. the cabins are tiny, as expected, but impeccably maintained. we enjoyed using the supplied firewood and s’mores kit while sitting in the falling snow. the coffee supplied is fantastic, but I’d recommend that tea drinkers bring their own bags (limited, herbal-only selection).
the only thing keeping this from being a 4-5 star star experience was the terrible smell of weed and incense inside the cabin. perhaps being pregnant and a migraineur made me hypersensitive to the smell, but every breath in was a fresh hell.

I have been to other postcard cabins before and before it was bought by Mariott. I think after the acquisition they reduced the quality. The smores kit and firewood kit is pre charged, earlier it wasn't. The smores kit was not that great, the marshmallow or the chocolate didnt melt even after burning it so I am guessing it was bad quality. The rooms were good and facilities were good. But I am guessing they were good because it was built before Marriott.

Staying at Postcard Cabins in Moodus, CT was absolutely amazing. From the moment we arrived, everything felt peaceful, cozy, and perfectly designed for relaxation. The cabin was spotless, beautifully set up, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay.
Being surrounded by nature was so calming—it truly felt like a reset from everyday life. The atmosphere was quiet, private, and ideal for unplugging and reconnecting. Every detail was thoughtfully done, making the experience feel special and intentional.
If you’re looking for a relaxing getaway where you can unwind, breathe, and enjoy the beauty of nature, this is the place. We left feeling refreshed and already looking forward to coming back. Highly recommend!

I absolutely loved my 2 night stay at this little lovely cabin in the middle of the woods! The cabin itself is tiny but you have everything you need, was worried about the cold in Jan but ended up getting very toasty easily with the AC! Shower was super clean with good hot water and all the shampoo etc, just needed to bring my hairdryer. The room was great and up to the standard you would expect in a Marriott little mini hotel.
The cabin is beautifully designed and the view around the cabin literally changes throughout the day, from morning to sunset to dark night all has its own flavor and beauty, and I filled my camera roll with lovely memories here for sure!!
Love the outdoor fireplace a lot as well, great spot to do some bbq and sip beers under the stars and enjoy the cold breeze.
Cabin was in a good spot, pretty private from other cabins, although during this season it is very quite anyways so doest matter too much.
The text service provided by the crew was awesome. I needed some stuffs on the first night and the staff legit showed up 5 min later. Very easy communication system, very impressed.
Would love to come back and highly recommend to visit during off season as well, cheaper price, less crowd, and stunning snow view!!
