The site we had was beautiful and quiet. They posted that quite hours was between 10pm-6am. Around 11pm that night we was getting ready for bed and a site that was just a few down from us started playing music loud and being loud. After a few attempts to ask them to quiet down they didn’t stop. We didn’t have no number to call to let them know that someone was breaking being too loud and ended up leaving. They said I would get a refund but haven’t got it yet.

We very much enjoyed our experience at Alexander Springs. Our campsite #64 was great. It was large, clean and mostly private. The small restroom near out site was clean. The camp host was helpful and accommodating. All other employees that we encountered were pleasant as well. My only criticism is that the boardwalk trail was still closed and apparently has been for some time. I would have enjoyed it more if this trail had been open. Hopefully, they will get it fixed before another 2 years has passed. that includes the trails at Juniper Springs, too.

Alexander Springs Recreation Area is located along County Road 445 in the northeast corner of Lake County between Astor and Altoona, Florida.
From I-75, take Highway 40 east through Ocala and Silver Springs approximately 40 miles to Highway 19. Go south on Highway 19 approximately 5 miles to Country Road 445. Go east on 445 for 5 miles to the campground.
From I-95, take the Ocala/Silver Springs Exit (Highway 40) west for approximately 35 miles to Highway 19. Go south on Highway 19 approximately 5 miles to County Road 445. Go east on 445 for 5 miles to the campground.
Alexander Springs Recreation Area is accessible via State Road 40, which is approximately 15 miles to the north. US Highway 441 is also nearby, providing additional access to the area.

- The campground gate locks at specific times, and late check-ins must complete their check-in the following day.

- Generators cannot be operated.
- Caution is advised with pets due to alligator presence.
- Floats in the swimming area should be limited to under 60 inches in width.
- The boardwalk is closed due to damage.
Site capacity
- Campsites can accommodate 2 tents, 2 vehicles, and 5 people maximum.

- Additional vehicles incur a nightly fee.
