What Guests Are Saying

Alexander Springs Recreation Area offers a beautiful and well-maintained environment, with clean bathrooms, friendly staff, and a lovely spring for swimming. Visitors enjoy the peaceful campgrounds, spacious picnic areas, and opportunities for wildlife viewing and kayaking. However, some concerns were raised about pavilion maintenance, noise from nearby campers, and limited hours for the spring, suggesting room for improvement in management.

Plus: rental canoe, canoe trip, staff friendliness, the spring, wildlife viewing
Negative: Overhead clearance for larger RV's needs improvement (to the highway standard of 13'-6") Dump station has an overhanging tree that if one follows the wooden guide rail at ground level, would damage the upper corner of an RV. Sites are small for a 45' RV. Only a couple of sites are suitable for RV's with solar panels. Some of the pavement has broken away and needs repair or at least backfilling with aggregate (gravel). Some of the 'pavement' has brush that needs cutting back - since one must park ONLY on the pavement.

Extremely helpful staff. Gift shop was fun with friendly staff. Campsite was clean and other campers were quiet for the most part. Alexander Spring is my very favorite Florida spring.

Park and facilities were well kept and staff very friendly. Most guests adhere to the 10 o'clock quite time. However, prior to quite time it can get a bit noisy with loud guests and generators. The traffic on the highway can be a bit noisy as well.

Great site, c43. Clean when we arrived, plenty of privacy, and not far from the facilities. Miles of hiking and kayaking trails. Great fun. Firewood is a little expensive at $10 a bundle and needing 2 minimum each night. We will return 😀
