really were having a great time we always go to the locks. We’re only 28 mi away when we got there we discovered that Barbara and her husband were the only Host we would like to find out how we can do that because they really needed help. The Park was beautiful. He the host never stopped the whole time. We were there From sun up to sundown I mean, what a great experience 💯💯 my husband hurt his knee and tore his ace his LCL and we still had our boat in the water our golf cart out of our camper we had to load everything and take everything without him. It was unbelievable, and Barbara and her husband were just awesome. You guys should be giving her praises and him. Thank you.

Best place I’ve been to in years!! Very clean, very quiet and water all around you. The sites were very well spaced apart. Bathrooms were clean and you can fish off the dock.
The only cons I have were that the trash pick up needs to be done more frequently. It was filled to the brim for two days or more and wasn’t pleasing to smell it. The other one is that there are about 7 speed bumps prior to to getting to the gate. That is serious overkill. People around RV sites and Campgrounds generally don’t speed anyway. But maybe because the boat ramp and dock are open to the public. Either way, two or three should have been enough. 😕
We will definitely be looking into a return trip tho. Had a wonderful time there!

Well-kept and nicely landscaped with some natural area as well, surrounded by water, with the added attraction of occasional boat traffic, W.P. Franklin is a visual pleasure. In terms of layout, most spaces are back-in, but there are several pull-through spaces, including waterfront. Water can be seen from any spot, however. The lock and dam structure offers a fishing pier, the actual lock activity taking place across the river in the south side park. Bear in mind that there is a dump station but no on-site sewer; other utilities are in place. From a bird watcher's perspective, we went during July -- off-season -- and saw a surprising number and variety of birds.

Arrived a few minutes early in my 32 ft Class C & the host, Barbara, was kind enough to process me thru. Had site #19, a clean, level cement pull thru with a clean covered picnic table & tree to the west to block some of the blazing sun. The 50 amp electrical post looked brand new. There is a central dumping station, not at each site. The entire campground was very well cared for & quiet. There is a pier to fish from. There are 2 bath houses which were very clean as well & everything worked fine. It is not very far from the town of Alva if you need groceries, gas, etc. There was someone monitoring the campground constantly, riding a golf cart; felt very safe there.

The speed bumps going into the park is overkill!!!!! They are terrible for RV suspension!!! Take some out, no way you need that many or how about getting decent ones that aren’t so rough in our suspension system. They are like having pipes across the road and going over them. We hear boats slamming down on their trailers also when they slowly go over them. I dread it every single time we go there!!!!! Please take 3/4 of them out, save our suspensions. At least you did fix them and install them properly instead of going across the road staggered now they are in a straight line. Now take some out!!!!
