The shower building was very clean. The rest of the grounds were well taken care of. We were greeted by the attendant at the gate who was friendly and helpful.

W.P. Franklin is a very well kept campground and facilities. The camp hosts are friendly and helpful. This campground also has 8 slips for boats. We have been going there for 14 yrs. at least twice a year fall and spring. Grocery shopping is about 5 to 6 mi away. You are about a half hour from Fort Myers and Cape Coral. Both places have great restaurants and plenty to do and see. This campground is on the Caloosahatchee River with west end of the campground is salt water and the east end is fresh water. Watching the boats lock through the Franklin Lock is very interesting.

We were running late (about 2 hours) from checkin time. Got a cell call from Missie (sp) just checking to make sure we were okay and going to be arriving on scheduled day. What a great surprise! She cared about us. Told us to just go to site and she would get with us after we settled in. AND YES she came by to check on us after we had set up. GREAT volunteer.

Our federal campgrounds and COE are fantastic. They are kept immaculate. The hosts as a rule are wonderful. Being a Florida resident, I wish our state campgrounds were maintained as well.
