Camel Lake Campground is a peaceful and beautiful destination, ideal for relaxation and nature lovers, with spacious and well-maintained campsites. Visitors appreciate the friendly camp host and the scenic trails around the lake, making it a great spot for hiking and enjoying the outdoors. This forest area is very beautiful and remote. When I visited the park it was very rainy and wet, so I did not get to enjoy the lake like I would have wished. This is a small park with only 4 (1 through 4) water and electric spaces. The spaces are relatively level and large enough to accommodate most campers. I was the only camper in the park when I stayed there (doe to the weather and time of the year). The camp hosts were very nice and checked in on me several times. The shower and restrooms were clean and well kept. The only downside to this park is that it is buggy (I visited in early September).

This was the most beautiful view I have ever had camping in Florida. For a remote campground this place was immaculate. No trash at all, very clean bathrooms, well mowed and cleared campsites. The hosts were perfect. Greeted us when we arrived and made themselves available to us if we needed anything but were not over bearing or intrusive. Yes the road getting in was bouncy especially pulling a popup, but not a big deal. Honestly the reviews had me scared going in but it was not that bad. We were there in late August and the bugs were not bad at all. Very secluded and private and no date or Wi-Fi service but were were able to call and text from our campsite. We were able to get some service on the dirt road so we could pull up directions and such, but most of the forest is no service. Gas station 6 mi up the road had wi-fi. I am an avid camper and Florida traveler and I would say this was the best camping experience I have ever had as far as feeling like you are really in the forest but still have some comforts such as electric and bathrooms. Cant wait to go back!!!

Small campground, 10 sites, I think only 4 with water & electric. 50 & 30 amp. Sites are nicely spaced out with plenty of shade. We had one right on the lake with a huge backyard. Good fishing. Very nice hiking with a loop around the lake and access to Florida Trail. Be aware small alligators in lake. 2 mi dirt road in but no problem if you take it slow. Hosts were great and do a good job keeping it nice. We camped at Camel Lake Campground in a Motorhome.

Great place to camp as it is quiet and had everything we liked. The kids could ride their bikes around the campground and run and play with lots of grassy areas. Good fishing on the lake and best of all was the swimming area.

Great camping spot. Easy hookups and not crowded. Easy drive from Tallahassee.
We were there in July. It was buggy.
Waterfront was clean and well kept. Water was clear. This is a sandy bottom lake.
Alligators are in the lake. We heard them but did not see them. I had three kids with me and we felt safe.
Hike around the lake is not strenuous. My 4 year old made it.
Overall, very pretty and remote.

Camel Lake is a beautiful location. Camp sites have adequate distance between sites and the power is clean 50 Amps. Water pressure was good.
The lake is a great place to relax, sun bathe or have a picnic. We walked the trail that surrounds the lake... an easy 1.2 mi trek.
The only drawback is there are no dump stations on the individual sites or at the camp. Luckily, our tanks were nearly empty when we got there. The dirt road leading to the camp site is pretty rugged in spots but nothing that our rig couldn't handle... it did cause some shakes and rattles on the 2 mi trip but nothing serious.
We only stayed one night as this was a waypoint on our trip to New Orleans. We were sad that we didn't stay longer but we will return for a more lengthy stay.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The little lake is so beautiful and clean, and the campsite was a nice size. The only problem was the host was unwelcoming and seemed pretty angry from the moment she checked us in. We didn't have to interact with her much until our last day. On the way out, I stopped at the restroom at the day use area since the campsite restroom was occupied for a while. Apparently, the host wanted to clean it at that exact time. The moment I entered the bathroom, she charged over from the campsite. While I was in the stall for only a minute or two, she had opened the main door and yelled at me 3 different times. Once saying "This isn't a public restroom!" Even though I'm sure she saw me just leave the campsite. Definitely the angriest camp host I've met, but at least I got some laughs out of the awkward story

Large site, private, dry camping. Power and water sites on lake were more crowded. Pretty lake, nice beach and swimming. Hot shower and flush toilet.

Camp hosts were very friendly, helpful, and informative. The sites had nice separation for privacy. The bath house was clean and well kept. The location was great!
