Camel Lake Campground is a peaceful and beautiful destination, ideal for relaxation and nature lovers, with spacious and well-maintained campsites. Visitors appreciate the friendly camp host and the scenic trails around the lake, making it a great spot for hiking and enjoying the outdoors. While the dirt road leading in can be bumpy and the bathrooms may require some upkeep, the overall experience is cherished by many, who value its secluded charm and tranquility.

Beautiful park in a fabulous area, camp host was great. Lake is lovely but very small- more like a pond, good for a quick paddle.

Really nice for quite and relaxation, with only 10 campsites but only 4 with electric and water hookup. No sewer hookup or dump station. Camel Lake was nice to paddle board on, didn't see any gators, but heard they are there. Mostly active at night is what we heard. But we did see a Eastern diamond back rattle snake yikes 4 1/2 ft long while out walking on the trail. Bathroom only had 1 shower with push button shower, Needs to be updated, pain to have to keep pushing to get your shower in. 1 bath shower for women and 1 for men. It did have 1 toilet for women and 1 for men in the camp area itself and 1 each up by the Lake area. If you just want peace and relaxation and out in the forest it is that indeed. 2 mi bumpie road to get back into the campground... go slow! Wished they had full hookup and more sites with electric and water..

Just so you know...The forestry service did a control burn in and around the camp ground. Still a great place to camp.

The lake is beautiful. The trail around the lake was a big hit with our 5 year old grandson! ( He loved looking for the gnomes) The campground host and his wife are friendly and helpful!

We rely on camp bathrooms and this one is a bit odd. The shower particularly wastes a lot of water as the flow sprays everywhere but on you when you stand under it. Many tent campers and families means this one stall unit gets a heavy work out. Better than nothing but just a better shower head would help a ton. The park is nice with good beach and pleasant trail. Very small and heavy rain flooded area and drive in while we were there. Quiet was wonderful

Host did not actually clean the restrooms most of the week we were there. Simply replaced the toilet paper. I cleaned the sink to make it somewhat usable. The showers were filthy to the point of unusable. Campsites we not cleaned. We cleaned up litter and cleaned out the fiepit ourselves. A new host is needed.
