The campground was pleasant and would have been great except for 2 hunters camping in a trailer who ignored quiet hour and ran their generator at 4am in order to have a cup of coffee. We had a discussion regarding quiet hour which should have been done by a camphost. The cheap ass Forest Service needs to compensate their hosts so they can get them!

No phone number, no ranger station, no camp host, filthy bathrooms with no TP or soap. The worst thing is that RV campers run their gas generators ALL NIGHT LONG! So much for the peace and quiet of the wilderness. I love the location but listening to multiple gas generators all night long and most of the day ruins the experience. I would not stay here again.

I was very happy with the campground and its lack of large noisy RVs! The campsites were very large and very accommodating for my little 12' camper.
The bathrooms were clean and the shower water was nice and hot.
The location was great for kayaking and wildlife viewing.
The camp host was friendly and answered all of my questions but said he had no control over the fact that I am a senior and was not able to get a senior discount for the reservation. I must have not checked the senior button for the reservation.

Really great park. I spent a lot of time in Apalachicola National Forest, when I was growing up, and never knew about this place. I've camped in some really great places, and this is one of the best. It's well laid out, spacious, clean, with lots of tall pine trees. I canoed around the lake, and it was lots of fun. Got a bite on a popping fly, even though it was early in the season. The picture plants were blooming not far away, and it's quite a sight. The bathrooms are pretty good for a campground. Plenty of hot water. There was wood cut near the caretaker's site, for the taking, which was nice. We had quite a lovely time here. I highly recommend it. It's almost as good as some of my favorite campgrounds in Great Smokey Mountain National Park or Yellowstone. Peaceful and luxuriously natural.

The campground is very nice. The sites are far enough apart for privacy (although not so much in the middle as it is very open). We had a site on the lake and loved it. The bathrooms were spacious and very clean. The campground was only about 1/4 full which added to the peaceful experience.

Nice, quiet campground. Campground host never acknowledged us in the three days we were there, which may be typical. The restroom was clean, but my husband said the men's shower needed cleaning badly.

Only a few other campers, but everyone was nice, quiet and respectful. Bathroom was stocked frequently with TP and soap. There was one shower stall not working.
