For half the price of Fort Wilderness you can enjoy Disney ! I used Rideshare to go to and from Parks. The rides were 10 minutes each. What I also like about Sherwood Forest RV is it is a large park to ride my bike around. They have planned activities almost every day even though I didn't participate. They have a nice pool, but it was too cold to use this trip.Just outside of Park there is a grocery store, a drug store, and eating places. I ate breakfast at Cracker Barrel each morning. Most sites are grass and have full hook ups and cable. Perfect place for Disney on a budget.

🆘 BE WARNED ⚠️ This place gets fake reviews to boost their Google rating. This RV park is the definition of slumlord park.

The bath house showers are dated, floors are cracked, and toilets are always left full of unflushed poo 💩 and no toilet paper.

There are abandoned trailer houses scattered across the property that are falling apart, covered in wasps nest, the main entrance road is paved nicely but soon as you pull past the pay booth the roads have potholes in them bad enough to break your RV rim.

They claim they have pools and hot tub available but they keep the gate locked 24/7 and use the excuse they are under maintenance. If you stay more than a week and confront the front desk about the amenities their story changes to "they don't have a lifeguard available" so the pool and hot tub just looks good through the fence.

The front office workers have the worst attitudes ever and they show up for work, stay in the office and leave at the end of the day; they have zero clue what's going on in the park and they couldn't care less.

The "security gate guard" sleeps in his car all night so there is no real security.

This place only continues to exist because of the abundance of tourist who don't know they are about to on become victims.

Please save yourself from regret and don't come here. We have stayed at all the central Florida RV parks and this one is by far the worst.

This is quickly becoming our favorite place to stay because it’s close to Disney and the staff are Always friendly.

The park is nice, some spots are a little tight but not bad. They maintain the grass and property in great shape and the sites even have cable!

We’ve enjoyed our stays here.

The campground grounds themselves are nice, and the location is ideal with lots of attractions nearby. Unfortunately, the overall vibe from the moment we pulled in felt off. A random person walking around the park made an unnecessary comment asking if my mom “could handle her RV,” which was unsettling. Added to that, there was constant noise at night—police sirens, ambulances, and helicopters—which made it hard to relax.

The biggest concern, however, was that sometime during the night our bike locks were cut and our e-bikes were stolen. When we went to the front office to recap what happened, the response was extremely disappointing. Instead of any sympathy or concern, we were met with, “Well, did you file a report?” We explained we were about to call the police but wanted to see if they had any cameras. Again, with no empathy, the staff simply said “no,” followed by “this happens all the time.”

The sheriff who came out was friendly and sympathetic and confirmed that theft does happen here frequently. We even spoke to an annual member who said the same thing. That made the lack of concern from the front office even more frustrating.

For a place that calls itself a “resort,” I would expect far better safety measures and much more compassion. Checking passes at the front isn’t enough—especially when two out of the three times we returned around 7:30 pm, no one was even there. Having a roaming security guard, surveillance cameras, or simply showing concern when theft happens would go a long way.

I’ve stayed at many RV resorts and even visit some yearly, and I’ve never felt unsafe the way I did at Sherwood Forest RV Park. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend staying here.

I am writing this review immediately after experiencing something unacceptable during my stay: my personal ninebot e-scooter was stolen directly from my RV site. RV parks are places where guests expect a baseline level of security for their homes and property, yet clearly, this is not provided here. Management is aware of the security issues (see other reviews citing the same issues that they have responded to).

The theft itself is infuriating, but the broader issue is the complete lack of safety it highlights. After this incident, my sense of security has been completely shattered. We no longer feel comfortable leaving any belongings outside, and honestly, we are hesitant to even leave the RV unattended.

This park is definitely not safe for children or families. If adult property can be easily stolen, there is no way I could feel comfortable letting children play freely or cycle around the park unsupervised. The atmosphere feels increasingly deteriorated and unsecured.

Security’s response (or lack thereof) to this serious issue was equally disappointing, confirming that guest safety and property protection are not priorities here. Until they invest significantly in visible security measures—like additional cameras, regular patrols, or security guards who do more than scroll on their phone instead of checking passes and warning off stragglers wandering into the park - I strongly warn any potential guest to choose a different location. This stay has been a costly and deeply unsettling experience. There are plenty of other options in the area. Do not expect a true gated community at this location, the guard shack is a JOKE.
