Nice place to relax and enjoy quiet time. Spaces have concrete pads, picnic tables, grill and fire pit all surrounded by gravel. Will stay here often. Park is clean and staff is pleasant.

Small but beautiful! Fun wildlife and birding. Sunrises are better than the sunsets here. quiet and clean and hosts are very helpful and down to earth good people.

This is a very clean and well maintained campground.. The sites are very nice sized the only thing it could use is more trees for shade. almost all spots you sit in the burning sun all day.

Well kept park. Very quiet. Restrooms are serviced frequently by an outside vendor. Roads are in good shape. Camp hosts keep an eye on the condition of the park. Electric and water all work well. Wi-Fi was present (on West End) but spotty. Cell service a bit weak at times due to rural location. Nothing to do in this park except stroll a little and relax.

Ortona South Campground
This was our first stay at Ortona South Campground. The website was very accurate and the entry was very easy. We were greeted by friendly hosts. Our friends told us this is a very quiet and clean Campground and it lived up to its expectations. Very nice paved roads very easy directions on where our camp was. Restrooms were very clean and usable. As far as activities, as others have noted, there are none which is exactly why we stayed at this campground. We did venture into Fort Myers and saw the Edison/Ford Winter home. It’s about an hour away and it was worth the trip. Other than that, we just stayed at the campground and enjoyed the scenery and fishing. We will definitely come back to this Campground and I would recommend it to anyone else who wants to clean nice Campground.
PS I hope they get the fishing dock open soon😎

Campground was nice as usual.
Surprised there is no fishing from the docks anymore and also can’t cross on the locks to watch the boats.

I love the campground and like to visit LaBelle for its country atmosphere. The Bridge Coffee and Tea shop in LaBelle is an excellent place to relax.

on Dalton Lane and follow the road into the campground.
Ortona South is accessible via State Road 78, which connects to US Highway 27 approximately 15 miles to the west.

General
- Ortona South Campground and St. Lucie South Campground are part of the same water resource project. Both campgrounds fall under the same 14 day maximum in any 30-consecutive day period regulation. Campers cannot stay at Ortona South for 14 days and then camp St. Lucie South for 14 days without camping elsewhere for 16 days. Campers also cannot use different names to get around this regulation.
- The campground entrance gate is opened at 7:30 a.m. and closed at sunset.

- RV site 41 and RV site 42 are pull-through sites that share the same camp pad driveway and are recommended for two RVs travelling together. Site 41 may require you to back-in to the site.
- Assistive mobility devices, such as a powered wheel chair, electric scooter, or golf cart, are permitted for use by individuals with mobility impairments for necessary transportation within the campgrounds. Individual must provide one of the following: a valid, State-issued disability parking placard or card, State-issued proof of disability, or similar document.
- Arriving campers that require the use of the trailer dump station prior to occupying their campsite will be charged the $20.00 use fee as the waste being dumped was not generated on site.
- Campers are limited to one RV/trailer sewage dump per week of stay, maximum two in a 14-day period. Portable holding tanks may dumped as often as necessarry during each stay.
- Campsites have maximum occupancy of 8 people per site.
- Don't Move Firewood: Protect your forests from tree-killing pests by buying your firewood locally and burning it on-site. Visit Dontmovefirewood.org for further information.
