What Guests Are Saying
Ortona South Campground is a well-maintained, clean, and quiet retreat, ideal for those looking to relax in nature. The campground features friendly staff, spacious sites, and beautiful views along the river, making it a favorite among repeat visitors. While the fishing pier is closed and there have been some minor concerns about bugs and bathroom updates, the overall experience is positive, with many guests expressing a desire to return.

We’re from central FL so this was a great location to get closer to some things that are just a little far away for a day trip. Koreshan state park, JN Darling NWR on Sanibel island (so sad to see how much destruction they are still struggling with out there), Fakahatchee strand wildlife drive, Big Cypress and of course, Lake Okeechobee. The campground is very nice. My hubby caught a few fish and saw a manatee from the fishing dock. Bathrooms/showers were very clean.

Lovely campground on the Caloosahatcha River at one of the locks. Site had cement pad and covered picnic table. Great boat watching. LaBelle Brewery is a must stop. Great food and beer—patio is dog friendly. Camp hosts went above and beyond.

We absolutely love this campground. This is our 4th time coming and we can't wait to plan our next trip again. It's so relaxing and so quiet. It's a very peaceful place. Everyone is so nice. We enjoy going fishing with our family and taking evening strolls. We also enjoy going to the Blueberry Bunch Farm to hand pick blueberries and the Dollar General Market that is near by. Our family highly recommends this campground to anyone. It's a hidden gem.

Park has nice size sites. Watch the boats travel through the locks. Fishing is it for things to do but interesting place to camp.
