What Guests Are Saying
Fort Pickens Campground offers a beautiful, secluded environment with friendly campers and staff, making it a great spot for families and outdoor enthusiasts. While the campground is well-maintained and features nice updated restrooms, some areas need maintenance, such as uneven asphalt and cleanliness in the showers. Despite minor issues, many visitors express a strong desire to return, enjoying activities like biking, fishing, and exploring the historic Fort Pickens.

Campground is small on loop a, worked well for us as we tent camped. Short walk to beach and wow, it’s just lovely. Island is very cool to explore but HOT. Showers need better ventilation. Noticed the vent shafts have about a 4 inch layer of dust and it really doesn’t pull moisture or humidity out, so even after taking a shower it’s about 100 plus degrees in there and impossible to dry off. Maintenance needs to be done there. Other than that campground is quiet at night and easy to sleep in a tent. Site A04 is a designated tent spot with only water. If your tent is low enough it will fit under a large tree at spot and provide shade. Ants are TERRIBLE, be prepared to clean up any food bits or face the wrath of ant stings!

A 42. Wider sites would be helpful. So would clean resrooms and showers.
When we arrived, the A loop area was under a boil water advisory, we did not know for 2 days because the norice was printed on a piece of paper on the restroom door, which we did not go to for two days. No email. No text. No ranger or camp host saying 'hey...dont drink the water.'
Beautiful place as always. Facilities are going downhill.

We stayed here for 7 nights.Campground was packed!!!Staff and campers were all very friendly!!The only complaint I have is the showers or the bathrooms were not cleaned thoroughly entire time we were there. They partially swept out bathroom once, however they did replace toilet paper a few times. But if campers would clean up after themselves the staffs job would be so much easier.Overall had great time at beach, the fort, and fishing pier even caught some fish!! This is second time we've been there and definitely plan to go again!!!!

Site #42 was good and private. Nice to have laundry machines. Bathrooms/showers need to be air conditioned. Heat and humidity so high that it is impossible to get dry after showering. Showers need updating. Outside showers would be great for removing beach sand.

We loved the campground! We enjoyed visiting the fort and riding our bikes on the trails, and the beautiful beaches and dunes. We went during Blue Angels performing in Pensacola beach. Will definitely go back!

Site was level and clean. My complaints are the parking was very limited and staff had issue with the angle the vehicle was parked on site off the grass. Don’t expect the best showers as the facilities are very minimalistic. Also be sure to remember park entry is not included in site cost and you will be charged extra just to get in. With AT&T we had minimal phone/internet service and if planning on going during events on the island plan food and fuel accordingly as it can take several hours for traffic to clear so you can get out of the park.

It was a very nice stay
, we use Landon BEACH for the handicap access there is a large mat going out to the beach very easy to walk on.
From the end of the mat it a short walk on the sand to the water.

Very laid back, not really a fancy expensive beach campground but if you are a beach lover this is the place. Most camp spots are short so longer rigs won't fit very well, also some spots have low hanging tree's.
