What Guests Are Saying
Fort Pickens Campground offers a beautiful, secluded environment with friendly campers and staff, making it a great spot for families and outdoor enthusiasts. While the campground is well-maintained and features nice updated restrooms, some areas need maintenance, such as uneven asphalt and cleanliness in the showers. Despite minor issues, many visitors express a strong desire to return, enjoying activities like biking, fishing, and exploring the historic Fort Pickens.

Beach and proximity to the beach was great. The Fort was also really cool and definitely a must for those visiting.
The campground…
Pros: Our spot had very little in the way of shade although was great for stargazing.
Cons: The bathrooms, especially showers were the worst campground showers we’ve experienced. (Walls were covered with mold). Our first morning we awoke to all bathroom facilities closed due to a utility related issue and had to drive out of the park to find a bathroom. The issue was resolved later that day although we remained under a boil water advisory. There were some very noisy neighbors in the campground who let their large dog run around the camp off leash and bark/growl at everyone, and who walked through our campsite several times as if it were there own (we’ve never experienced anything like this before and all other campers were friendly and respectful).
This would likely be a great spot if they would repair and take care of the bathroom facilities and enforce the campground rules.

We enjoy coming to Fort Pickens very much. Wonderful location on the Gulf Coast. Lots of things to do, ride our bikes, fish, enjoy the beach and the clear water. Yet close enough to Pensacola to take advantage of great restaurants and tourist activities.

The fort was the biggest historical fort I’ve toured. Really neat architecture and the gun powder tunnels were fun to explore. Blue Angel practices were amazing and the coastline so beautiful!! Great place to visit.

We love it here. No crowded beaches. Beautiful sand & water. The only negative thing I can say is that they do not sell ice and the closest store is 15mins.

Campsites are short for our rig but other than that it was a great park. Clean, well run and hosts and rangers were friendly. Beautiful setting. We will return!!

The camp host, Curtis was very friendly.
The showers and bathrooms were NOT clean. The bathroom corners had a collection of dirt that were there the entire time we were there.
One shower room had a bandage on the floor for three days. I didn’t use it after that so I don’t know if it continued to remain there.
We enjoy the area and the beauty of the white sand beaches.

The location was great! Everything else failed to met expectations. The facilities at the bathhouse were atrocious and in need of repair/ upgrade. The Camp Host had an awful attitude about the smallest of issues. We had a guest come visit while we stayed and they parked their car on a patch of dead grass and gravel. They were off the road and not blocking traffic or near any other campers. The camp host felt this was an absolute crime and decided to bang on our RV door at 8pm. As I opened the door he yelled, “this cannot be!” I was kind of shocked and asked what’s the matter? Then he attempted to calm himself while explaining the car needed to be moved. Then while my guest moved the vehicle he stood at the road pacing frantically! The whole interaction was very odd!

Love the campgrounds, the only thing is the beaches are full of people fishing everyday up till about 12/1 pm. That makes it hard for kids to swim, they should not be able to fish right in front of where family's park to take the kids to the beach! They should have to go to the right or left by 150 yards at least.
