What Guests Are Saying
Fort Pickens Campground offers a beautiful, secluded environment with friendly campers and staff, making it a great spot for families and outdoor enthusiasts. While the campground is well-maintained and features nice updated restrooms, some areas need maintenance, such as uneven asphalt and cleanliness in the showers. Despite minor issues, many visitors express a strong desire to return, enjoying activities like biking, fishing, and exploring the historic Fort Pickens.

The boardwalk to the beach is in disrepair and I would consider it a safety hazard. It needs to be immediately closed or repaired. Although the bathrooms were cleaned daily, they looked rundown. The shower/bathroom unit near B loop had minimal shower pressure, some faucets did not work properly and is need of a fresh coat of paint. It looks like mold was growing in the shower room. The water spigot was being used as a "clean up" place and bathroom sink (people brushing their teeth and spitting out next to the spigot). Proper hygiene signs could be installed to address these issues.

The bathroom and showers were disgusting this trip. I showed outside as the water was scolding and stinky in shower stalls. The women’s large stall was backed up and stinky the entire weekend. No one came to do anything about until checkout on Sun.

Great week. Would like better parking for campers. Maybe at the site. Sewer dump is the worst I’ve ever been to. Try to dump uphill and no hose connection. We love the camping as a whole.

I was grateful to get a last-minute reservation when Florida State Parks accidentally cancelled my reservation at a nearby campground! As a tent camper, loop B had no electric nor water, yet I was prepared so all the necessities were there for a pleasant overnight stay. All sites are park-at-your-site, thankfully...not the walk-in kind. The campground and the fellow campers had a pleasant nostalgic old-school feel, so different from the state parks where the evenings are silent as everyone but the tenters retreat into their RV's at dusk. The bathroom / shower building was clean but has no A/C so super humid. Staff were top-notch, welcoming and professional. The gorgeous beach is steps from a campground parking area and as an early bird, I had the beach to myself on a Friday morning. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay and look forward to return.

Love this place. Try to camp here every year
Some of the sites aren’t too shady so if you are tent camping try to find one that is, at least in the warmer months. Or make sure to pack a shade canopy.
