What Guests Are Saying
Fort Pickens Campground offers a beautiful, secluded environment with friendly campers and staff, making it a great spot for families and outdoor enthusiasts. While the campground is well-maintained and features nice updated restrooms, some areas need maintenance, such as uneven asphalt and cleanliness in the showers. Despite minor issues, many visitors express a strong desire to return, enjoying activities like biking, fishing, and exploring the historic Fort Pickens.

The bathrooms and showers are GROSS!!! The remodeled/updated showers in the C/D campground area had been open approximately a month prior to our 2 week stay and they were already noted to be scummy, discolored, slimy, and gross; they looked just as bad at the other shower areas. They are nasty! The rest of the park and the stay was good.

We enjoyed the park and seeing the Blue Angels. We did not appreciate numerous annoying neighbors slamming doors, beep beeping locking and unlocking vehicles, flash lights and head lamps shining in our windows, barking dogs etc all hours of the day and night.

It is difficult to get your camper and vehicle on the pad and not on the grass unless you are very small.

The campground as a whole was nicely kept, quiet, and maintained. The restrooms (on loop E ) were very nice and looked updated. However, the showers in Loop E need attention and updated. As we looked around the grounds we did notice that the restrooms in Loop A were being refurbished so we hope that is an indication that they will move on to the other showers when they are finished there in Loop A. The Ferry is such a nice addition to services there. We just enjoy riding it to get a look at the different scenery.

The bath houses were filthy. Not just the ones on loop A that were being remodeled but every one my wife and I went to. The folks who run this park should be ashamed for letting this park become so run down. I spoke with a camp host who said “Yes those things (the bath house) are nasty. It looks like someone bathed a dog in one of them.” Three days later they still looked the same. Lots of camp host just riding around on golf carts like they are the ones on vacation. Only Park Ranger we saw was at the front gate. We used to visit the park on a regular basis back 15 years ago and I can’t believe what it has turned into. The Park Manager should be Ashamed.
