What Guests Are Saying
Fort Pickens Campground offers a beautiful, secluded environment with friendly campers and staff, making it a great spot for families and outdoor enthusiasts. While the campground is well-maintained and features nice updated restrooms, some areas need maintenance, such as uneven asphalt and cleanliness in the showers. Despite minor issues, many visitors express a strong desire to return, enjoying activities like biking, fishing, and exploring the historic Fort Pickens.

The campground was very nice. We met quite a few very nice fellow campers from all over the USA. The restrooms were nice. We enjoyed the quick access to the beach. We also rode our bikes to Fort Pickens. The selfyour using the App was excellent. My wife noticed the flag over the Fort only had 33 stars. The Ranger told us it was the 165th anniversary of the entry of Fort Pickens into the Civil War and 33 were the number of states. Great visit. Only complaint: too long of a line at the dump.

I love this campground. I’ve been here several times. But budget cuts are beginning to take its toll. The main office was closed. The store has been closed. The ferry only runs one day a week. We were in a loop A this week. The temporary bathrooms were not the greatest. I’m hopeful that the permanent bathrooms will be ready soon.

We loved our stay at Fort Pickens. The staff was very courteous and helpful. I wish they would extend some of their sites so we did not have to park out truck in the overflow lot. The new bathrooms are very nice but they could use a little better cleaning than what they re getting. We loved the location! We will e returning.

We really like Ft. Pickens and have been twice annually for most of the last few years. It is gated, which we think makes it a great place for families young and old.

I love Ft. Pickens and have been going there for over 50 years. It's gotten just about impossible to get a camper site for more than a couple days unless you make reservations a year ahead. Two things that took aways from this stay was the showers are terrible and there is no place for fishermen to clean their catches. The showers are really bad and they are not being cleaned at all. Some showers had very little water pressure, the low flow shower heads sprays water everywhere but where you are. There are no clothes hooks in most showers and the lights don't work in 3 of the showers (they strobe really fast.)

Beautiful park. Camp ground is fair. The park service needs to really step up its monitoring of people who litter, especially on the beach. I was constantly picking up trash on the beach and parking areas that seemed to be deliberately deposited. At least the park could post signs and remind people of the penalties of littering and the danger to wildlife and ecosystem.

Beaches were beautiful and the fort was amazing. Very friendly person at guard gate. Enjoyed the park but the campground needs work. We visited for 2 nights with a motorcycle and tent.

Great grassy site (E47) with easy access to beach and trails. Bathroom/showers were recently renovated and look nice but cleaning appeared to be at a minimum. One issue we did encounter was the arrival of guests at a site across the road that came in at 2:00am and set up campsite.
