This site is huge and is a pull through. It has great access to the water, with little stairs going down to a sandy beach. I had very spotty Verizon service but was bale to make phone calls up near the bathrooms. The park staff was so friendly and there is firewood available for sale. This campground has a lot of RV's and campers - I think I was the only tent camper at the campground.

1st time visit. Will be back. Lots of nicely shaded spots with water views and decent privacy. The campground roads are level which is great for walking or riding bikes. The beach area looked nice and had loaner life vests for the kids as did the boat ramp. The bath houses are clean, but dang hot in the summer, but what did I expect? Some of the cooking tables could use straightening, but are a nice addition to the sites. Camp staff were very helpful and friendly. Only about 15 minutes off I-20 and 5 minutes or so from Mistletoe SP if you want to explore there. Verizon cell service was very good toward the back half of the campground going towards the boat ramp. I heard the signal was very weak the closer you got to the gate.

One of our top 3 COE campgrounds. The only thing I'd like to improve this campground is full hook ups, but minor compared to the entire place. One of the best lakes too. The camp hosts are trying to cut down on the speeding (10mph speed limit) and I commend them for this.

Winfield is one of my favorite campgrounds. I've been camping here for over 2 decades. Sites are huge, lots of wooded area between neighbors, which is a must for us because we are the crazy people that camp with 6 dogs. ver friendly staff, sites are clean , restrooms/showers are clean. On this specific trip we got the pleasure of watching an Osprey with her 3 new babies, the baby birds were very loud and always hungry. it was neat to watch Mama bird catch fish and feed it to her babies. she caught a lot of really big fish. I'm glad the campgrounds are getting more business these days but I do miss the days when I could book the site I wanted at a moments notice instead of 6 months in advance.

Great campground hosts, super clean and they hold everyone to the rules!
The beach is very nice and for campers only.
Augusta is a nice town with a beautiful river walk along the Savanna river. We went to the single A baseball team game and they have a beautiful park, lots of fun. Lots of hiking in the area as well!

Great campground! Pretty private campsites surrounded by woods & most have a lake view. The current attendants are the friendliest & best Winfield has ever had! My family has continued to come here since the sites were primitive (30 or 40-something years?) We will continue to come back!

We loved our site (67) even though it really should be listed as a buddy site. Quiet park and staff are very friendly. Only request would be to have a washer/ dryer.
