Good shaded spot but many trees around site have poison oak vines so be careful.

Love this Campground. Been coming here forever. Forest Service could do a better job of keeping the grass cut at camp sites. But overall a Great Time!

I’ve loved this campground since I was a kid. Staying on sites 1 through 7 is best, so you have instant access to the river.

We have been staying at Sandy Bottoms and Tate campground for 25 years and always a great time. Never a problem

An okay campground for tenting but be careful not to bring a trailer greater than around 20’. Not well marked for finding the place either if unfamiliar with the location.

Sandy Bottom is one of my favorite places to go. The campsites are spacious and always clean, already planning the next trip there.

Quiet campground, 2 vault toilets (no lights, bring your own hand sanitizer), could use some signs for the water.
The drive down the gravel road is going to take longer than you think the first time but wasn't too tough for a normal sedan.
Sites 1 and 2 offered some great trout fishing within 20 ft of the tent pad.
Pit - grill was broken on #2👎🏻

Take U.S. 76 west from Clayton, Georgia for 8 miles; turn right (north) on Persimmon Road for 4.2 miles; turn left (northwest) on Tallulah River Road (Forest Service Road 70) for 4.6 miles to arrive at Sandy Bottoms Campground.
