An okay campground for tenting but be careful not to bring a trailer greater than around 20’. Not well marked for finding the place either if unfamiliar with the location.

Sandy Bottom is one of my favorite places to go. The campsites are spacious and always clean, already planning the next trip there.

Quiet campground, 2 vault toilets (no lights, bring your own hand sanitizer), could use some signs for the water.
The drive down the gravel road is going to take longer than you think the first time but wasn't too tough for a normal sedan.
Sites 1 and 2 offered some great trout fishing within 20 ft of the tent pad.
Pit - grill was broken on #2πŸ‘ŽπŸ»

The drive back to the campground was a little rough and crowded. Beautiful site and people were friendly.

I have been camping at Sandy Bottom campground for the past few years and always look forward to going back. I'm never disappointed, and the drive following the river to the campground is amazing!! Highly recommended.

Our stay at Sandy Bottoms was great! Peaceful and just what we needed. Be prepared to drive on a dirt road for 4 mi, but it wasn’t bad, just be aware. There is no cell service, but that was fine too, it was nice to unplug from the world. We hiked the Coleman Trail and played in the water. We love this campground.

Your reservation system is flawed. One camper group had reserved two spots and parked their cars in one, camped in the other.

Another camper told me they reserved 2 spots for the weekend, with different names, just in case they wanted to switch to one over the other.

First come first serve eliminates these issues. You’re ruining the camping experience with this system.

People are taking advantage of it.

On recreation.gov you gave the wrong directions to the campsite. I clicked on the other Sandy Bottoms near Morgantown Georgia. You need to fix the website. There are two Sandy Bottoms campgrounds in north georgia
