Love camping at Saras Creek. Bathrooms are always clean and well stocked. The fishing and swimming are great.

Place was a bit trashed when we got there but after cleaning up after previous jerks the place was great. Quiet. Bring firewood as the place is very picked over.

The Govt reservation system is not very good for the users, it probably serves the govt well by collecting $, but the users struggle.
I made an online reservation for Sat night (very few available). When I got to Sarah’s another group was in my site. We had a friendly conversation and he explained that his party had 2 sites for 2 nights, but his woman forgot to click on 2 nights for the 2nd site, thus showing available when I made my reservation.
My group (son-in-law and grandson) decided to move to another site.
With no cell service and no internet at Sarah’s (which by the way is why many folks go to the woods), we could not check anything. So we found an empty site at 3:00. Around 4:30pm a group pulled up with that site reserved, so we packed up and found another site where fortunately no one showed, despite it being reserved, and we had a nice time.
There is no substitute to a human being being on-site handling issues like this. Either make it like it used to be - 1st come, 1st served, or some combo of both, or install satellite Wi-Fi at the campsite to enable reservation system changes (and ruin the whole experience for those of us wanting to get away). Maybe then the campsite will get more social media exposure with more influencers documenting their “wild” adventures to crowded north Georgia.

It's a beautiful area, though it's a bit of a drive on the road out but i didn't have any trickle on my front wheel drive suv. Sites 6, 7, 8 seem far enough apart so you aren't on top of reach other

The campground has not been updated! There are severe ruts in the road leading up from the main highway, the picnic tables are old and rotten in places. The fallen trees and brush has not been cleared at all. We have been to other campgrounds in much better condition! Will not visit again.

A group of our friends have been coming to Sarah’s Creek annually for over forty years and love this campground. We were disappointed to see the “no camping beyond this point “ signs. In past years we have been able to get multiple tents in this area and camp near the water. It’s still nice but not as nice as before.

Enjoyed the trip but the road to the campsite is in bad shape. Has been for years. Where does our tax money go? I have a small 20 ft camping trailer and its getting to the point I am scared to carry it. Please repair the road

As usual, the road is in poor shape. This District of the Chattahochee NF does a terrible job of road maintenance.
Roads are not kept in compliance with Best Management Practices (BMPs) for water quality.
Ditches aren’t kept open, culverts are clogged and grading(when rarely done) does not crown roads.
Therefore, water often runs down the roads making travel difficult and depositing sediment into the streams.

The campground is clean and nice. The latrine can be smelly but has always been clean and stocked with TP. My only complaint is with the new reservation system. Why would they implement an online only reservation system in the woods with no service!? I made a mistake on my reservation and could not fix it because it’s in the woods with no service! Cash in envelopes and first come first serve was a much better system.
