It's a beautiful area, though it's a bit of a drive on the road out but i didn't have any trickle on my front wheel drive suv. Sites 6, 7, 8 seem far enough apart so you aren't on top of reach other

The Govt reservation system is not very good for the users, it probably serves the govt well by collecting $, but the users struggle.
I made an online reservation for Sat night (very few available). When I got to Sarah’s another group was in my site. We had a friendly conversation and he explained that his party had 2 sites for 2 nights, but his woman forgot to click on 2 nights for the 2nd site, thus showing available when I made my reservation.
My group (son-in-law and grandson) decided to move to another site.
With no cell service and no internet at Sarah’s (which by the way is why many folks go to the woods), we could not check anything. So we found an empty site at 3:00. Around 4:30pm a group pulled up with that site reserved, so we packed up and found another site where fortunately no one showed, despite it being reserved, and we had a nice time.
There is no substitute to a human being being on-site handling issues like this. Either make it like it used to be - 1st come, 1st served, or some combo of both, or install satellite Wi-Fi at the campsite to enable reservation system changes (and ruin the whole experience for those of us wanting to get away). Maybe then the campsite will get more social media exposure with more influencers documenting their “wild” adventures to crowded north Georgia.

Place was a bit trashed when we got there but after cleaning up after previous jerks the place was great. Quiet. Bring firewood as the place is very picked over.

Love camping at Saras Creek. Bathrooms are always clean and well stocked. The fishing and swimming are great.

If you camp here just hope that there’s not a transient person illegally camping in your spot because that’s what happened to me.

We normally camp at Earl Ford, but we wanted to try somewhere new. It’s a nice campground and much cleaner than Earl Ford. The only downside for us was that the creek isn’t suitable for fishing, which was pretty disappointing

Found a beautiful waterfall and swimming hole while we were there. We only stayed one night and it stormed but it was still awesome!

This is a great campground. I do wish it was still first come, first serve, but oh well. The biggest issue of the reservation system is that if you are in the area and decide to camp, there is no internet signal to make the reservation. Other than that, it's central to a lot of nature to immerse in.
