When arriving noticed the grass was, in some areas, above waist high.
We camped with three other families. Two of the families took it upon themselves to weed eat the "weeds" in the sites we were in.
The one of two bathhouses was not operational (being remodeled).
The other three families that we were with said they had been coming to this campground for around 15 years
and this was the worst they had seen it.

Grass was knee high in many areas, restrooms in the center of camp were not open, campsites were not cleaned prior to new occupants....wood scattered around campfire area, broom and trash left on gravel pad.
In years past, the above was never the case at a core park on Lake Lanier. It is very sad to see the core increase camping prices but decrease service to these camps.

We have camped here many times… and there a variety of sites that have a wonderful view of the lake. Always have a great time. Luckily no grandchildren were with us in this trip as the lake water was lowered and the beach was mostly mud.

For the second year in a row, the COE has made the decision that mowing the grass throughout the campground is not necessary. There is already knee high grass growing in many public areas that can pose a risk of ticks, mosquitos, snakes, just to name a few. The campgrounds are full most of the summer and to see it looking so unkept makes us, as the campers who are paying to be there, feel disrespected and unimportant. I hope by the time we go back around Labor Day that they have finally started mowing ALL the campground, not just around the edges of the road. Families with small children have no open areas where their kids can run and play. If you as a reader of this review have reservations at Bald Ridge or any other Lake Lanier COE park, bring your weed eater at the very least. Yes, it is inconvenient, but if you want your site to look nice while you are there, you're likely going to have to do it yourself.

CUT THE GRASS!! We have enjoyed coming to this campground for 7-8 years and it used to be kept to the hilt. Now someone comes and mows just a round or two in some places and leaves all the other grass growing knee high. It is a shame to let the place go to the point that you need a tractor and a bush hog to mow, and then you will need to bale the grass/weeds. Kids don't have a place to pitch baseballs or kick a soccer ball.

We stayed at site 56 and it was so beautiful. We had a walkway to a little beach. We will definitely be back!

I love these parks. There is so much space, the staff was really friendly, bathrooms were convenient and clean. Seems like almost every site has great access to the water. I had a path to my own beach.
My only complaint is some of the other campgrounds are closed for the season due to staffing shortage. So the ones that are open fill up months in advance.
