Itβs very difficult to reserve a site when youβve never been there. After reserving one that I thought would be ok when I arrived there were several much better options. I tried to change my reservation and they wouldnβt let me change without canceling the original one first. There would have been a $10 cancellation charge. I was dissatisfied with the first choice but next time I know which site to reserve. Itβs hard for me because I travel by motorcycle and usually donβt know where Iβll be camping until late afternoon

Campground is wonderful, up in the mountains. Bathhouses are clean, well maintained. Close to Ellijay and the apple houses. Only complaint, the camp volunteer (site 15a) we first dealt with was rude, nasty and unwelcoming. Instead of helping with my issue, which was of my making, his response was to leave the Campground, make a reservation for that night and then come back. It is two and a half miles of winding mountain roads to get back to the highway and another six miles until there was a spot to turnaround and make reservations, instead of staying in the Campground and making the reservations. Fortunately, his wife was more helpful. But it is a beautiful Campground and the sites were mostly level. We will be back.

Beautiful clean campground, we were on site 26 with lots of privacy. Other sites are much closer so make sure to look at the map if privacy is wanted! Only downside is very steep embankment to the lake. My kids braved it and kayaked and our dog had no problem! But if you want lake access itβs difficult! Also, no TMobile cell service at all, we enjoyed that but others may not.

From Atlanta, take I-75 north to Exit 293, then Highway 411 north to Highway 136. Turn right on Highway 136 and follow to Highway 382. Turn left on Highway 382 and look for signs to the campground-- access road is directly across from the volunteer fire station.

Policies & Rules
Arrival & departure
- Reservations are required for all campers, with limits on occupancy and vehicles.
Cancellation policy
- Reservation fees are non-refundable. For campsites, cabins, lookouts, yurts, group sites, and similar stays, we charge a reservation service fee of $8.
- Standard cancellations usually have a $10 cancellation fee. Customers can generally cancel before the check-in date online.
- Late cancellation rules differ by stay type.
- Individual campsites: cancelling after 12:00am local time the day before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- Cabins, lookouts, and yurts: cancelling less than 14 days before arrival usually means a $10 cancellation fee plus forfeiting the first night's fee.
- One-night reservations: a late cancellation usually forfeits the full amount paid, up to the total original reservation cost.
- Modifications are allowed before the cut-off window, but fees depend on the change. Changing to dates completely outside the original reservation dates may trigger a $10 change fee. Extending or shortening a stay that still includes original dates usually has no change fee, though refunds may depend on timing and facility rules. Switching to the same type of campsite for the same dates usually has no change fee, but price differences are charged or refunded.
- Early departures may or may not be refunded. At certain facilities, partial refunds may be possible if staff can mark the site available for other visitors. No refund is given for a night if the early departure is requested after that day's check-out time.
- Security deposits are separate. Security deposits may be refunded to the original payment method if the facility is left in acceptable condition, as determined by the property.

- Campground gate is open.

- Vehicles can exit at any time, but cannot re-enter after closing.

Site capacity
- Camping is limited to a maximum of 14 days within any 30-day period.
