Great campground! It's very family friendly. Sites are pretty much on top of each other, but that lends itself to friendly neighbor interactions. The sites are very well shaded. The bathhouse are very clean and comfortable. It's an easy walk to Driftwood Beach and a short drive to other destinations on the island.

The island itself is beautiful, natural, and full of wildlife, but our campground experience was extremely disappointing.
The mosquito problem was out of control. It was impossible to sit outside and enjoy our campsite. The campground felt like a ghost town because everyone was forced to stay inside their campers. The only people we saw outside were those who had to walk their dogs.
We purchased bug sprays from local shops on the island, and while they seemed to work reasonably well elsewhere, they made little difference at the campground. The mosquito population was simply overwhelming.
This was especially frustrating because this was our only family vacation with the kids this year, and a large part of the camping experience was ruined. We understand that mosquitoes are part of nature, but the campground appeared to have taken little or no effective action to keep the mosquito population under control.
The island is worth visiting, but based on our experience, we would not stay at this campground again unless significant improvements are made to mosquito management.

This is a great campground. The staff was very friendly and took great care of us. We were going to stay two days . Got here late Sunday after a long day driving. Monday we drove around the island and decided to see if we could extend our stay. We had to move sites but that was fine with us. We have enjoyed our time at the campground and on the Island.
This is one of my favorite spots on this trip and we have been in twelve states in two and half months.

This is on of the most Beautiful places we've ever camped in. We have ridden our bicycles all the way around the island on tons of bike trailes. The campground has tent to full hookups back-ins and pull throughs. The people are really nice here. Lots of families. Haven't felt like we needed to lock everything up. The sites are plenty big and beautiful. We extended our stay here because we enjoy it so much.

The island is amazing, beautiful trees and beaches. Interesting history and not crowded in common areas except the campgrounds. I felt squeezed in a tight spot with what seemed like a 100 other campers. The check in and out seemed consistent and it seemed very busy with no outside privacy. We enjoyed ourselves away from the campgrounds.
