What Guests Are Saying
Whitetail Ridge offers a beautiful and peaceful camping experience with friendly staff and well-maintained facilities. Many campers enjoyed the spacious, clean sites with lovely views of the lake, perfect for relaxation and outdoor activities like fishing and kayaking. However, recurring ant infestations and some dated restroom facilities were notable concerns, especially for those camping in tents; overall, it remains a favored destination for camping enthusiasts.

My wife and i are senior citizens who recently bought a class B camper van to be able to explore our part of the world. We have watched a lot of You Tubes about van life and discovered the Corps of engineers campsites around the SE US. Among those was a beautiful CG just across the Georgia line called Whitetail ridge on the shore of beautiful West Point lake. With our America the beautiful lifetime senior pass it was just 13 dollars a night! We were blown away by the privacy and sheer beauty at site 16.. We have found COE campsites to be larger than a standard state park site, usually set up on an amazing body of water where we could easily set up out Bote, walk our doodle, and enjoy an amazing sunset.. There are typically less glitzy facilities on COE campgrounds and bathroom facilities and trash dumpsters were pretty far away from our secluded cul de sac at site 16.. This was a minor inconvenience tho because our Pleasure Way van is fully self contained. The bottom line was we had a great time in a beautiful park with friendly staff and would recommend Whitetail Ridge highly and will definately consider another trip there in the future.

The couple at the check-in were wonderful. They were very helpful and answered all of my questions. They were kind and considerate compared to one of the other parks on Westpoint lake.

Beautiful, quiet site, mostly level. Good creek reception. But of a walk to the bath house, but they were clean. Old laundry machines but they worked. $2.75 per load. Great biking in the park!

This was our first time staying at whitetail ridge and it was great. The people at the front gate are awesome! Our camp site #4 was a great spot. Only downfall we had was we didnt realize the water had already been lowered for the off season but that had nothing to do with the campground. We'll definitely be back!!

Unfortunately the site was infested in millions of ants that entered our camper. Literally millions. We arrived a 3 and by 11pm the entire bathroom was covered in ants. We left the next morning.
