What Guests Are Saying
Lake Russell Recreation Area offers a peaceful and serene camping experience, with beautiful wooded surroundings and friendly staff. Many campers appreciated the spacious and well-maintained sites, as well as the intimate lake setting ideal for fishing and kayaking. However, several reviews noted issues with cleanliness, particularly in the bathrooms, and the condition of some parking areas, indicating a need for better maintenance and oversight from the camp host.

Site is pretty remote, larger rigs might have issues getting in and out of the narrow roads, but very peaceful and quiet. Cell coverage (Verizon) was very poor so keep that in mind. If you're solar powered the sites are mostly shaded. Hosts were friendly and experience was favorable.

Beautiful location. Sites tight and net real level and roads very narrow for our 32’ fifth wheel. Would return again.

The bath house was nice, kept clean during our stay. There is some noise at night from a local road nearby but the campground was pleasant and the hosts very friendly and helpful.

Loved this quiet scenic area. Great for beginner paddlers and very peaceful. Camp host was awesome and went out of her way to check us in, get goodies for the kids, and welcome us.

Great hosts. Clean site. Recommend lake loop trail and a swim at the beach area.
