Pāpalaua Wayside Park offers a peaceful beachfront experience with beautiful views, soft sand, and gentle waves, making it ideal for camping and picnicking with family and friends. While the park has limited amenities and some traffic noise from the nearby highway, its tranquil atmosphere and stunning sunsets more than compensate. Visitors appreciate the need for preparation, especially for camping, but many express gratitude for the park's natural beauty and relaxing environment.

Pāpalaua Wayside Park is a wonderful place to spend the day enjoying beautiful beaches, ocean views, spectacular sunsets, and quality times with friends and family.
We camped out a few nights first come first serve (would recommend wearing shoes off of the beach, clearing your tents footprint of thorns, and a nice sleeping pad and pillow) it was great falling asleep to the soft sound of waves on the beach and waking up in paradise!! I'm so grateful for this park and cannot wait to go back in the future!

Pāpalaua Wayside Park is a peaceful beachfront spot right off Honoapiilani Highway, offering a mix of camping, picnicking, and beach access. The shoreline is narrow but scenic, with soft sand and plenty of shade from trees. The waves are usually gentle, making it a great place to relax, though snorkeling is hit-or-miss due to rocky areas. There are portable toilets but no other amenities, so come prepared. The proximity to the highway means some traffic noise, but it's a quiet escape compared to busier beaches. Arrive early for a good spot, and if camping, secure a permit in advance.

Porta potty is disgusting, but overall a nice pull off with beach access and camping. However, on the website it said this place was closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, however it’s not possible to be “closed” as it’s a long open access right along the road. Also I didn’t see anywhere to put a cash payment for camping. A number of discrepancies between what’s on the website and what I experienced.

Hawaiian beaches are renowned for their stunning beauty, with soft golden sands and crystal-clear waters. Visitors often praise the vibrant marine life for snorkeling and the picturesque sunsets. Keep in mind that some beaches may be busier than others, so it's worth researching to find the perfect balance of scenery and tranquility based on your preferences.

Great place to camp on the beach! Get permits at the recreation centers during the week. Great weekend pricing. Make sure you wear shoes on the dryer parts of the beach, as there are thorns around. Not the best for long term camping with kids. Beautiful views and wonderful waves to fall asleep to!
