The sites were spacious, well laid out and private. The altitude made for more pleasant temperatures given the heat down lower. The open range cattle grazing was a bit of a novelty.

We enjoyed the peace and quiet. Not very crowded mid week. Walked a stretch of trail and enjoyed the wild flowers.

Place is great to camp, but the reservations were not kept on the rec part. We get there and ppl were set up and camping in the spot we chose. No where on there that it said we had reserved the site.. so now we had to take a different spot. No one that weekend had their reservations saved on the camp ground we reserved, so we ended up paying extra for a double when all we can find was a single camp.

Reserved the group site for family but when we arrived there was a large Hispanic family using two of our camp sites for day use had fires going and food cooking and were loud and didn't leave until after 10pm. There needs to be a day use area. The group sites should be clearly marked Group reservation only sites!
