Place is great to camp, but the reservations were not kept on the rec part. We get there and ppl were set up and camping in the spot we chose. No where on there that it said we had reserved the site.. so now we had to take a different spot. No one that weekend had their reservations saved on the camp ground we reserved, so we ended up paying extra for a double when all we can find was a single camp.

Reserved the group site for family but when we arrived there was a large Hispanic family using two of our camp sites for day use had fires going and food cooking and were loud and didn't leave until after 10pm. There needs to be a day use area. The group sites should be clearly marked Group reservation only sites!

More gravel needed around fire rings to make the mud manageable during rain. It rains a lot at Thompson Flats and Lake Cleveland.

Beautiful campground way up a mountain in the middle of Idaho. We loved this site, had a beautiful view of the Perseid Meteor Shower and will remember this night forever.

We ended up moving to spot #4. Spot 2 is rated for a 50’ rig and we could not back our 5th wheel in easily. We got luck spot 4 was unoccupied or reserved. Spot 2 seemed closer to the road and less private. Would not recommend for a rig 40’+. Maybe not even more than 30’. Spot was very pretty though.

This is a great campsite and the weather couldn’t have been better. The wildflowers were beautiful and the temp at night was perfect. This place could be totally booked and you still feel secluded and it’s so close to Lake Cleveland which is the perfect place to spend a hot summer day!

From Interstate 84, take exit 216 and follow State Highway 77 south for approximately 18 miles, through the towns of Declo and Albion, to Howell Canyon Road. Turn west at the Pomerelle Ski Area sign and drive seven miles up the canyon on Howell Canyon Road. The road is steep and winding, watch for the campground entrance sign on the right.
