What Guests Are Saying
Huckleberry Campground is praised for its cleanliness, well-maintained facilities, and friendly camp hosts who take pride in their work. The beautiful setting by the river offers opportunities for relaxation and outdoor activities, making it a favorite for families. However, some guests noted noise from nearby logging trucks and felt that the pricing was high, especially regarding additional fees for electricity.

Campground is between the St. Joe river and the river road so you get to hear road noise and the river. Well maintained (sites were getting electrical upgrade to 50amp this year). Camp hosts very busy cleaning and keeping campers informed, great friendly place. Avery has gas, diesel and sundries but there’s no laundry or showers available.

Campground itself is great, no bad sites, all long, all great tables and fire pits.
Kudos to the host for
“Cleanest pit toilets EVER”
So clean that I turned around and picked up a couple leaves off the floor that my shoes tracked in….
The hosts care, friendly and do a fabulous job at making sure people follow the campground rules so not to ruin it for everyone else.
Campground itself is not fancy, it can get a bit noisy as it’s on a busy road… but with water and electric it’s a great season starter campground and lots of in summer with floating down the river…

Wonderful hosts, very helpful. On-site electricity and water was handy. Sites are tightly packed but everyone was very polite
