What Guests Are Saying
Sagehen Creek offers a variety of enjoyable activities such as swimming, paddleboarding, and fishing, with well-maintained bathrooms and an accommodating camp host. However, some visitors experienced overcrowding during holiday weekends, a lack of privacy between campsites, and issues with reservations. Additionally, concerns were raised about flooding and insufficient water access at certain sites.

This campsite was advertised as "full shade" but every tree on the site had been logged. There was not an inch of shade; the entire site was completely naked of trees. It was such a disappointment, not to mention ugly with all the deadfall laying around.

The campground is in an open range area -- and plenty of cattle meandered through our campground, and site - Including a large bull , who was quite chill, though! The lake/reservoir had receded enough that the boat docks were unusable (which really did not affect us, though). The reservoir/lake was in a pretty area, but, lots of fire fuel (i.e. trash limbs, trees, etc) were all over the place, It appears that they are trying to clear out some of the dead trees - burning them in large piles.

This site is not a campable site. All of the trees have been cut down and are laying in the site. Luckily we were able to find a first come first serve because this spot is not usable.

Stayed in site 9 and it is a great little waterfront site. Camp host was awesome and had the site marked with our name and was ready to go. He swung by and checked on us a couple times and suggested nice hiking trails. The whole campground was very clean and well managed. The trailer Parking space is big enough for 35’ trailer ( mine is 25’) but you will have to un-hitch regardless. Just not enough room for a truck and trailer on the pad. The view of the reservoir is beautiful and lots of shade at this site.

Sagehen is a nice reservoir for swimming, or floating. Camp host is awesome! Only down side is a lot of trees have come down recently, so some spots are more open and sunny compared to previous years.

Sage Hen Reservoir and Sage Hen Creek Campground have always been one of our favorite camping sites. We enjoyed our stay but the logging operation has really destroyed much of the scenic areas of the campground. I realize the dead trees probably needed to be removed but now there are numerous bare spots in and around the campground. Close to the water is still nice but up the hill is not. Antelope Campground still has its trees but I am sure future logging activity will remove several trees in that location too.

Fairly large campgrounds with views of the reservoir. Very quiet and peaceful. Weekends had obviously more traffic but during the week it was secluded. Took a walking path around the water and across the road was a waterfall. Lots of cows, frogs and hornets. No bites fishing though.

We enjoyed staying here. We were able to ride the rzr around and did some fishing and paddleboarding in the reservoir. The camp sites are a good distance apart and well maintained. We will be back.
