This campground is on a winding narrow road that takes about 30 minutes to navigate it's 15 mile run. Hayden Lake is over run with housing which makes traveling the road even more of a challenge. If you are not planning to travel to and from the campground it would be fine but if you want to travel in and out you better plan on almost an hour to go in and out of the 15 mile stretch.

Campground is small which was great for our kids to ride their bikes around the loop. Host kept it clean and campsites are very shaded. My only issue is that there’s no direct access to the lake from the campground. Even though it’s directly across the road from the lake the only public swimming hole is on the other side of the lake (25 min drive). You could probably launch a kayak or paddle board from the spot in front of the campground

Swimming access is 12 miles down the road....nothing close unless you're putting in for kayaking.

Not on the bay really. We only stayed one night due to travel issues. The lake is very pretty but too many people around it.
