It was very beautiful. The only downside was the potable water was not working.

Black Rock Campground is a beautiful and remote spot along the North Fork of the Boise River, offering a peaceful atmosphere with well-spaced sites and easy access to trails and swimming areas. While some amenities like the water pump and fire pits need attention, and issues with noise from generators and aggressive bees were noted, many campers enjoyed their experiences and appreciated the natural setting. Overall, it's recommended for those who come prepared and are seeking a rustic camping experience.

Great campsite. We got a shadier spot and it was pretty big. But so much traffic for the bathroom from all the dispersed campers up the road. There is only one bathroom for 11 campsites and with the extra people we very quickly ran out of toilet paper and had to wait in line to use the bathroom every time.

Not helpful in canceling my stay and would not reimburse any of my days. Don’t stay here unless you are planning the day before going.

We love camping at black rock. However, for $20 a night there was no toilet paper for the duration of our stay. Sun- Wed. Ranger showed up Wednesday as we were packing up to replenish the stock. Also, been going here for 30 years and could hardly get water out of the well pump. If there is a method for getting the water out, there should be a sign with instructions. Thankfully, we were over prepared but either of these things could be trip-ending circumstances for anyone else. They raked in a lot of money for my family who had multiple campsites with zero “ammenities” provided.

The US Forest Service never seemed to know if it was opened or not for camping due to the fire. I paid for 4 nights and stayed 1 night and was told to evaluate

Be advised- FS road 327 is a dirt road that is only graded a couple of times a year. It can get very rough with washboarding and potholes.
Black Rock Campground is accessible via Idaho State Highway 21, which is approximately 15 miles to the east. There are no interstates or major freeways in close proximity.
