About Edna Creek Campground

Edna Campground is located 56 miles northeast of Boise, Idaho, in a scenic Ponderosa Pine forest along Highway 21 at an elevation of 5,700 feet. Historic Idaho City is just 18 miles south. This campground contains 11 sites. Picnic tables, utility tables, and fire rings are provided, along with two vault toilets and a water pump. The site is in an open area with shade. Parking spurs are graveled. Due to its proximity to the highway, some noise from passing traffic is to be expected. Highway 21, also known as the Ponderosa Pine Scenic Byway, snakes along Mores Creek to Mores Creek Summit, Gold Fork, and Banner Ridge with breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and forest. Numerous trail opportunities are in the area, offering hiking, biking, horseback riding, and ATVing. In winter, the area becomes a playground for backcountry skiers and snowmobilers.

The campground itself is fine, but it's mainly a tent campground. The site was listed as 35ft max and we were crammed in even with unhooking the truck and parking sideways in front of the rig. Also the site(6) is backwards with the camp site on the left when rvs open on the right so we had to walk around to get to the fire ring and picnic table.

I didn't realize the campground was in a burn area. But it was quiet and cool. We had to reserve two separate sites to stay two nights because the other ones were booked. But no one ever showed up to the 2 sites we were in that were booked on opposite days. Is this an issue?

Me the hubby and four kids went camping for just the night and it was very nice to be able to get out of the area for a bit and not have to worry about cell phone service anything like that. Overall I would recommend it was quiet it was relaxing and a nice little stroll to the creek.

Very neat campground with spacious sites. We loved the hiking trails nearby with the creeks to climb over and around. Our boys loved exploring, finding caterpillars, frogs, and woodpeckers. The pump water was great, and it was nice to have a bear-safe trash bin to securely put trash each night. The toilet was a typical hole-with-a-seat, but seemed to be kept up well (and included toilet paper). Overall a great campsite!

We love Edna Creek. It's beautiful, mountainous, and the creek makes it perfect. We hike the road and the trails, we've seen deer and all kinds of squirrels. There's beautiful birds everywhere. And it's only 2 hours from Boise.
