Very nice campground in Caribou-Targhee NF. Sites are well maintained, clean and generally have plenty of room. Amazing that this campground is about 30 miles from Yellowstone West Gate and it had multiple open sites the entire time we mere there.

We were next to the outhouse, and the smell was bad at certain times, but still had a great time

Buffalo is well managed and our hosts were polite and accommodating. The restrooms were clean, garbage containers well maintained and dumped regularly. The fire pit was clean as was the site when we arrived. I was surprised at how hard the hosts worked for our benefit. On the negative side - the access road in from the main highway needs to be repaved. I walked all of the loops in the campground and was surprised that the entry (the space to park and put an RV) to the campsites in two of the loops were unpaved. That is something that should be noted in the description. Other than that, this is a terrific campground situated on the banks of the Buffalo river and in the heart of Island Park, Idaho.

Excellent campground with good space between campsites. Enjoyed floating down the Buffalo River and getting our right at our campsite.
