Love the campground. The new loops aren’t yet as fabulous as the established loops.

I'll give it three stars since I have camped here twice. The first time was in Aug 2016 and it was great.
This time July 4 2020; it was terrible. Not the mosquitoes, I can live with them, it was the fact that the host and/or the forest service did nothing about the high number of people in the campground setting off fireworks basically through the night. (Fireworks started July 3 turning into an all night crescendo of constant fireworks till well past midnight. July 5 was nice and quiet and could hear the moose bellowing in the distance. (Have to wonder what those poor animals did the nights of the fireworks?)
Fireworks are ILLEGAL in FS campgrounds, but I guess those in authority did not care. I wonder if their opinion would have changed if they had caused a wildfire?
So, outside of a holiday, with the campground full of inconsiderate people setting off fireworks, it is a nice place to camp. And easy to get to from Hwy 20.

Went in early June and it was quite fun. Only downsides were the that the pine trees were pollenating heavily and the mosquitoes were thick.

The campsite was beautiful. You could easily walk down to the river. I will definitely return to this campground.

I found the site a little difficult to use as the availability calendar does not always show prior to trying to reserve what is actually open but overall it worked out.
