We just returned from an absolutely unforgettable glamping adventure at Starlight Retreat. It was hands-down one of the best family getaways we've ever had. With a crew of 10 (parents, kids, and grandkids), we were a bit nervous about finding a spot that could handle our chaos comfortably, but this place nailed it! From the moment we arrived, the staff was helpful and friendly. Shoutout to the team who helped us with extra blankets and even a surprise s'mores kit for the kids. Their friendly, helpful vibe made everything feel effortless. The surroundings are breathtaking like stepping into a postcard. Our tents were luxurious with lamps, plush beds, and pillows that are better than the ones we have at home! The bathrooms were immaculate with hot showers, towels, soap, and clean flushing toilets that kept everyone happy after a day at Yellowstone. Location-wise, it's perfect. Close enough to a charming mountain town of Island Park for ice cream runs but secluded for that true escape. We disconnected, bonded over campfire conversations, and created memories that'll last a lifetime. If you're needing a great getaway that blends luxury with nature, book this now. 5 stars isn't enough—it's a 10/10 for families! Can't wait to return.

We got the luxury bell tent. It was big and comfortable! The bed was cozy even when the nights were cold. I loved our cow visitors! It was fun waking up to mooing every morning. The restroom facilities were a big disappointment though. First, they were a really long walk from our tent. If you have any mobility issues, tell them when you book. I don't know if they will accommodate you by giving you a closer tent/tp, but it wouldn't hurt to try. The non-shower ladies restroom didn't have any hand soap. The water pressure in the shower was barely a trickle and the water temp was inconsistent. The bottle for the body wash was empty. The morning of our second night, there was no power and hot water in the bathroom/shower shed. The sinks didn't have any water at all. I know it was because the day before was really rainy and their solar power bank didn't charge. But for the amount of money we paid, I'd expect better. I've seen better facilities at $50/night campgrounds. But...I want to reiterate the tent was wonderful, the location was perfect, and the sky (on our 1 clear night) was very stary.

I cannot recommend this place enough. In a spur of the moment detour to Yellowstone on our drive from Texas to Idaho we needed a place to stay for one night. We called ahead before we booked and the entire team was so kind and accommodating. We stayed in the bell tent and the bed was so comfy and warm. It has a traditional campground vibe with a few welcome luxuries. Sleeping in a king bed in the wilderness was pretty dang awesome. If we ever have a chance to come back I think we would definitely stay here again.

Such an adorable place! It’s a little drive away on a dirt road from the main freeway, which was difficult to traverse through because there were many holes.
Upon arrival the staff in the welcome center were friendly and gave us a s’mores ticket for one free s’more per person during campfire hours (7-10pm). I had no idea that in the north the sun sets so late, it wasn’t even completely dark until after 11! There’s a little outdoor cooking station in the campfire area, some yard games, and hammocks. It’s a great time to chat with other travelers or just to enjoy the evening alone.
It feels secluded being by the woods but not so scary knowing there are some people nearby. It is bear country, so they do warn you to leave all food and toiletries in your car when not in immediate use, and they do have bear spray available just in case. There were a lot of daddy long legs that appear on the outside of the tent, and some mosquitoes. It was chilly outside but the walk from our tent to everything was refreshing.
There were four facilities near the welcome area: one that has single toilets only, one that is single toilets plus showers, one that has four men’s showers, and one that has four women’s showers. Hot water was available too.
I stayed in a tent that sleeps five or six, and there was plenty of space for all of us. Even though outside was cold at night, the blankets were really warm. The tent also came with a solar powered battery to power the lamps and USB ports for charging our phones.
This was an amazing place for someone like me who enjoys the outdoors without so much of the hassle of actual camping.

We loved being just 20 minutes outside of the West Entrance to Yellowstone. We had zero light pollution and enjoyed the famously big starlit skies. Morning views were absolutely stunning and almost made it hard to head into the park. The camp hosts were kind, welcoming and surprising to us, actually enhanced our visit as we opted one evening to join them around the communal campfire. I opted to make breakfast for my family one morning - which wasn't in my original plans - because we wanted to stick around and enjoy the stunning surroundings rather than find a restaurant in town. Also, Starlight Retreat had a much nicer outdoor camp-style kitchen setup than I had realized it would. I was able to use the provided pot and pans and cleanup was a breeze with their sink/counter space and provided cleaning items. I'm picky about shared cooking space, but this was great. We stayed in a Family Safari Tent which had VERY comfortable beds with plenty of clean, warm bedding. We initially chose this place for the value, but it's the warmth, nature connection and thoughtful preparation/accommodations that we will come back for.
