What Guests Are Saying
O'Hara campground offers a beautiful and peaceful setting, enhanced by cedar trees and proximity to hiking trails and the Selway River. While there is no potable water on-site, visitors appreciate the clean environment and scenic views, with many returning for family outings. Some concerns were raised about facilities, including the need for a camp host and improvements to the water situation and bridge access, but overall, guests enjoyed their experiences.

The days we were there were great. The day before we were to leave there was a landslide. The landslide blocked the road and trapped ours and 30 other RVs. Getting our RV back has been problematic. It has been 10+ days and our RV is still trapped.

My family gets together at Ohara once a year so we obviously like the campground and area. This is not a camp site with a lot of amenities. Many of the sites are to short for bigger rv's/trailers. There isn't any overflow parking for extra vehicles or trailers. It has a paved camping area, lots of shade, and USFS toilets. Water from can be had from various spigots in the camp area. Nothing you can hook up too. There is no wifi or phone service. These are the reasons our family likes to camp there. Along with easy access to the Selway River and narrow mountain dirt roads.

Ohara is a favorite campground. It is situated in mature woods, close by the river. There is enough space and vegetation to give a bit of privacy to most camp sites. Over time, we've had chipmunks, mice, ground squirrels (both Columbian and golden mantled), and deer in camp. I've heard of flying squirrels there, as well, but have never been lucky enough to see them. The campground is popular enough that I highly recommend making a reservation, especially if you have an RV and size requirements or if you get attached to a particular site.

Beautiful campground and setting along the river - also very quiet. We stayed in space #24 and it is VERY TIGHT fit. We have a 27' and it was difficult (though I'm not a seasoned RV guy); no room along side the trailer on the pad for much of anything so all chairs, add'l cooking equipment and park table are to the rear of the trailer about 30 feet. We'll stay again but not in #24 - lots of other awesome spots!!!
